The same for me, mate! A question to everybody: what it could be happened yesterday in the 2nd half if City would have tried to play a more offensive football? My own opinion is we could have lose 4 or 5 to nil because of the lack of experience between the 2 squads!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

Agree with that. As I said somewhere else, they scored the first when we were playing well, and in the second half, when they seemed all over us, they didn't score.

Still can't see many go there and get something.

Correct , in hindsight we should have played like we did last year..defensive and go on the break. Funny thing is, Napoli played like we did last year and got an undeserved point against us !!!! but we all wanted to see attacking football and its cost us.

Not too late to put right though...we still have time and games.

Of course we should.Barca apart, all the best teams in Euro play like that.
I thought Bayern were slightly surprised that we started as well as we did and to a degree we were unlucky not to be ahead in that first 20 minutes. But I also thought Bayern were just taking their time and almost looking at what we had,how we were attacking and probably recognising that we were leaving ourselves a little open at times.

Then when we gave the ball away they started attacking quickly and we were found seriously wanting. They could have easily scored just before they did and that 2nd was a massive blow.It allowed them to come out and play possession football without having to chase a goal. The main reason they didn't score more( apart from 2 great Joe saves) was that they didnt try too hard as they didnt need to.

They controlled the game and strolled home.

Got back from München a couple of hours ago. Spent some time reading the comments on here and a couple of
other sites. I'm a bit surprised to see some of the comments about the game. Maybe from my position in the stadium,
it didn't look too bad. It was a great game of football.

First point I'd like to make is that UEFA and City need to see how easy fans from both teams can mingle, talk and have a
great time with each other on the Trains, the walkway to the stadium. Even inside the stadium. There were many City shirts mixed in with Bayern Fans and there was absolutely nothing but genuine banter between the fans. The Bayern fans were very welcoming indeed.

Second point. The Stadium is a cracker, great atmosphere, although the Bayern fans can't sing for toffee.
I'm looking forward to seeing City there come next May !

About the game.

I agree entirely that until their goal City were the better team. However I felt that it wasn't going to be our night. Sometimes , what seemed like a great pass, just doesn't come off. Or as we saw with their first goal, Joe parries the ball perfectly towards a Bayern player . At any other time this might not have happened.

Overall, given that we were chasing the game in the second half, Bayern deserved the points.

We actually punished ourselves with the silly foul that Dzeko gave away right on half time .Even though it was a debatable foul. We shouldn't be doing that kind of thing AT THAT TIME in the game. Also Barry should have been in front of the first attacker and NOT behind him. Nobody ever has a chance with flick on, if positioned behind the player at the near post like he was. If the ball does come short, as was the case, the defender is on it.

Bayern actually didn't carve out too many chances.

I think Dzeko's anger was simply because he didn't have a good night against a team he usually does well against.

As for Ribery, that little shit ! Perhaps the less said the better. Always whining to the ref . In the second half he was always caught in possession. David Silva doing a great job winning possession and taking the ball very easily off him. Then the little git drags his leg on the ground, somehow falls into Aguero and Aguero gets booked ! Pathetic refeering and showmanship from Ribery.

Ribery by the way had cramps in his legs with more than ten minutes to go and finally pulled up one time, before waving to the bench to get him off. I don't know if that was shown on TV.

The way events were unfolding, I could not help thinking that maybe the Ref was scheduled to pick up a new BMW today.
And the six linesmen nonsense is just that. Even from my seat I could see that Silva was fouled for a Penalty. Micahs foul was a block too, but perhaps he made too much of it

Gomez got the rub of the ball, to nick a cricket phrase . I thought Joe was desperately unlucky with the second goal, Gomez shot at him !

All in all a great experience, the Bayern Fans were great and City will get better in the CL.

I think Bayern will not take chances against Napoli and we must aim for the 10 points. It is very definitely doable for City. However, give me the PL title this year over anything. If it stops United in their tracks.

All i can say is look at the game we played at Fulham.. outpassed them and went ahead, failed completely to respond to them upping their game. Bayern are obviously better than Fulham but until we let them get a chance they were struggling. Tbh i could easily see a situation where we could have scored and put a bit of panic into Bayern, but still i would be seriously concerned that City would again fail to up there game or tempo, or put the basic effort in to match Bayern's eventual fightback.

It isn't just the Bayern game we have shown the same tendency since the Comm Shield. Otherwise at full tilt City are a match for any team.

Just got back. Reality of last night.
Great City Munich.
We started well and failed, same as scum according to one of the many civilised Bayern fans I had a beer with.
City are not far away, Bayern showed us the art of paitence and making the most of chances created. That sums up Champs League.
Bayern have beaten better teams than us for years and years.

Franc Ribery is a lot better than I thought.

Our ground is ok but nothing special when you see the Allianz. They treat fans very well, card thing was easy if you were sober !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some were pissed and were platting snow.

Fuck the result we have time on our hands, Rome and all that !!!

Did not want to start a new thread, so what is the attendance going to be, we appear to be way short of a full house, Touts are ditching at face value, will we be repeating the last 18 pages. Is this gonna be a great night or heartbreak.

I was wondering this too - tickets still on sale - wonder how many though.

I already dealt with the disappointment after the napoli game so ive promised myself Wednesday is going to be a good time regardless! IF the unexpected does decide to happen then i guess it'll just be a tiny bit better! :-)

I think after the trips to those dirty italian bastards, and the poor turnouts of spain, coupled with the fact that they're already through - tomorrow night should be a good laugh with ze Germans.

I hope we can get a good turn out.

I find it genuinely stunning that Norwich at home can sell out with 10 days to spare, and yet we cant fill the ground for Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League. Unreal - cos we see teams like Bayern every week at the Etihad dont we? Not.

Until we can fill our stadium for games like this, any talk of extending the ground is total folly. Empty seats for this game embarrass the club Im afraid.

As you've just said we can sell out Norwich in advance. That means the ground will be over subscribed by next season. Start adding titles to that & it will be heavily over subscribed. Because some cup games don't sell out right now is irrelevant. If the ground is packed out for every league game, unless they make it bigger, they are going to charge me a lot more money for my ticket.

Fans are picking and choosing matches according to their criteria. Many will see this one as an unimportant game due to us only having an outside chance of getting through, saving them money to attend other games. I'm sure they'll change their tune if the unexpected does happen.

Bayern is sold out.

Stoke has only a few seats, mostly singles in the 3rd tier. For a Tuesday night that was almost snowed out last year. It's getting harder to get tickets.

Will we all have to stand there holding up fucking cards so it looks good on TV again, thus totally ruining the atmosphere when the teams come out again like v Napoli ,because nobody on the lower tiers can clap because some fucker has given them all cards to hold ?
