Sour grapes?

Most probably and strange as he was actually praising him a few weeks back. That was obviously when he had the nod that no bids had been made and probably says a lot about what's now being said behind the scenes in football.

I'll get the chairs ready and book the Blue Carpet.

I know this is dragging on but can you imagine Sterling & De Bruyne on the flanks with the likes of Yaya & Dave terrorising through the middle.

I think we're trying to sign the next Ribbery & Robben.

I agree with your excitement.

If he's in the squad today tho you can bet Wolfsburg don't want to sell or are negotiating in a nearly suicidal way. Why risk a 50m asset if you're convinced he's leaving? Either force our hand or cut bait and make him play. Seems to be their strategy.

I could see this one dragging out yet again into next week and the deadline.

If we get no one else are we satiated? I don't feel I will be tbf which feels greedy right about now but I've got a boner for one more midfield attacker. I'll need some release because I have almost no self control.

Cheers

it'd be interesting for sure. a large part of our lethality so far this season is having the blinding pace of Sterling and Navas on opposite flanks. granted, Kevin is a much better player than Navas but he's nowhere near as fast.

He doesn't have to be fast as long as he's effective, and that's what he'd bring. Sterling, and somewhat Kolarov, have shown once again that presence is a threat in itself and while opening the middle of the park it allows for greater freedom for the likes of Dave.

I don't think this has cooled, it just was not as hot as the press were guessing it to be.Wolfsburg said all along he would play today so the transfer must still have some way to go. He won't be signing on Monday.

One of the main reasons that Kevin De Bruyne's price is so high, is that he had the most number of assists, of any player in Europe. With 16 goals and 25 assists in all competitions, KDB was more directly influential to his team, than Pogba, Isco, Moutinho, Hazard, etc.

De Bruyne broke a Bundesliga record, with 10 goals and 20 assists for Wolfsburg. Even if KDB only scores and assists half of those 40 goals in the PL, his direct contribution towards 20 goals would still be excellent, for a midfielder!

Everyone here is assuming that Kevin De Bruyne will only be replacing Navas, on the right wing. However, for Wolfsburg, KDB has also covered the same positions as Silva, Sterling, Nasri and Yaya.

I'm glad I'm nt the only one thinking that. Do we honestly think madrid would knock back 50m for Isco? Id be well up for that.

I'm in your gang on this one.

Me too. Pay the extra €30m to get Bale, or whatever it takes

When I've seen KdB he moves all over, very Silva esque. Can't see him directly replacing Navas, more some system change or even sharing of that role to give Silva more rest and less kicks

All 3 of them have played central, right or left. The inter-change sounds mouth watering.

Why would you pay so much more for Gareth Bale, when he contributed less total goals plus assists, than Kevin De Bruyne? In 2014-15, Bale scored 15 goals total and 10 assists, in all competitions. So, Bale directly contributed to 25 goals, compared to De Bruyne's 40 goals! Isco, Pogba, Reus and all the other names mentioned had lower combined goals plus assists totals.

According to those watching on BM he played poorly didn't seem that interested missed a sitter and wasn't injured. Went over like the rest and thanked the fans at the end of the match. Make of that what you will.

watched a bit of the Koln match this morning. anyone on here watch Wolfsburg with any sort of regularity?
the few times I've seen him play--today included--he tends to sort of just stand around and do nothing when he's not on the ball and be kind of anonymous.

He is proven in Premier League and don't forget everything goes through Ronaldo at Madrid so he doesn't see as much of the ball

For those who have Eurosport 2 Europe, right now is the highlights of Koln vs Wolfsburg.

He played really bad in the first 38 minutes.
