Hart made a couple of decent saves, but so did their keeper. Their penalty was a joke and there was a chance at the start of the second half that looked a country mile offside. But we were away to a German side and gradually took the game by the scruff and fought back to win. That was a really decent effort and had Serg had his shooting boots on, he could easily have had five.
Quit joining in with the press agenda, that was a good European performance in a feisty atmosphere.
Still don't like the stupid competition though, but we'll be in with a shout in this group now.

That looks like it. Now, had he scored we would have been hearing how poor City were etc etc. In fact it was the Lino who was poor. And even though Joe made a save, it's used against us in reporting, as another 'rescue act' from Joe. In reality the defence has done its job, it's offside.
The same thing happened at Spurs, if the guy running the line does his job we go in at half time with a deserved one zip lead. Goals change games, and again if the the third Spurs goal is ruled out as it should have been the fourth wouldn't have happened I'm fairly sure.

Agreed, this one is almost as bad as the Spurs one, he must be what 4 yards offside?

I think it's worse. It's not even close. That's as bad a non offside decision as I can remember seeing. It almost looks deliberate.
You can't not give this.
And on the telly they never even mentioned it. Not even one of those understated "a hint of offside there " comments.

I'm not sure if it's worse, fair enough he's further offside but lino is on the opposite side of the pitch so may not have seen the flicked header, the flight of the ball didn't change much to be fair so I can see how he may have been in two minds. The Spurs one on the other hand was fucking ludicrous and there's no excuses.

I take your point, but the ball hasn't travelled very far from being headed on and he is so far offside. It's not like it was a fifty yard pass with a defence moving forward and a striker going the other way.
I suppose you can only guess that he doesn't realise it's been headed on.

Either way, you're comparing the offside decisions' equlivalents of Stalinism and Nazism. The difference is academic, both decisions are abominations.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I noticed that too. I was waiting for the replay and the comments but they failed to materialize.
