We battered them last night. They had one shot on target that was a crap effort from de la soul. He did have good run in the first few mins where clichy left MDM exposed as he did in the first leg. However, that was sorted immediately and it didn't happen again.

I am one of the first to blast pellers nouse during game time. He got it spot on last night. Credit where credit is due.

I do wish Otter would stay on his feet. He makes me nervous with his tackling style. MDM was very good too. Sterling was pants but energetic until about 25 mins to go and he turned on the burners and looked like he got a second wind and started to tear the left side apart.

Also Zaba showed what he gives over sagna. I think sagna was up there with fernandinho as our best player this season. However, Zaba gives us so much more in the attacking 3rd.

I would have binned him off at half time and replaced Delph with Nacho. Say what you like, but Pellers got it spot on.

The change at half time was spot on, I was surprised he didn't start that XI tbh. He also hooked Yaya at the right time, great to see Silva assuming Yaya's role, needs to happen more often when we're dominating possession like that.

Stones??

You ARE having a laugh aren't you?

Also - have a look at the 'goals conceded' column in the PL.

Stones has started believing his 50 millions hype he needs a word in his ear.

He is a good defender and i think with the right coaching at the right club he will be amazing he is only 21 and their is no shame in getting ripped apart by Sergio.

I would 100% have him at City.

Sterling was much more dangerous when moved into the space just in front of the defenders. Pellers has mad a couple of decent subs recently. Has he learned something new or is it a case of a broken clock being right twice a day...

Well done manuel.

There's a lot of shame in fucking about in your own area (previously), gifting the ball to City in midfield leading to a goal, taking so long over a throw the ref gave it to us. He was taken off because he became a liability last night.

He's got previous on horrendous errors too. He can only use the 'young' excuse for so long.

So i'm guessing you don't want to sign him.

I used to think he was just badly coached.

Ater last night I think he is over-hyped shite. Pundits get very excited because he can trap a ball.

I forgot about the long throw incident. I said at the time, I don't think there is a rule to say your taking too long so I am turning over the play to the other team. I am sure he should have been booked for time wasting and told to get on with his throw? It's a new one on me, I have never seen that before.

Nor have I but I like it. Never saw the sense in wasting more time by booking a player for wasting time.

I am all for the booking. Puts them on a tightrope and means they can't take the piss any more. I like the turnover too, could ruffle a few feathers if it was done around their penalty area

Which also helps Navas greatly when teams double up immediately he gets the ball stopping him getting in an early ball. Everton did that again last night as soon as he was on. Two onto him and one behind at the front of the six yard area. Zaba's energy down the line pulls players after him, opens up that side a bit more.

Great atmos last night. Over 50k there. That's the biggest crowd of the 4 semi final games. I don't suppose that's the angle the press will take. Well done to Knobby the Netter by the way. Great save early second half and took some good crosses out of the air.

Or to put it another way, from Toffee Talk:

Why John Stones is still making the first XI is way beyond any reasonable attempt at comprehension. The boy's head has gone, he has probably already decided he's off in the summer, and his appalling decision making is now costing us big time. The fact that Martinez subbed him straight after he cost us the game is an admission by the manager, but of course by then it was too late. I don't blame Stones - he's a young lad still learning the game. I blame the manager for sticking with him out of sheer stupidity and stubborness, when he should have been taken out the firing line weeks ago

just yet another young English lad who is told he's amazing and gets touted as the next big thing. huge price tag is slapped on him and he stops developing because he buys into the hype that he's already "made it". just like Sterling, Berahino, and Wilshire and plenty more.
