I think Mendy was charged the same day as he was arrested. "A certain (now former) Everton player" who hasn't been charged despite being arrested and questioned over a year ago has not officially been named in the press in the UK.

No charges have been brought, and he's under a travel ban. Basically, now his contract's expired, he's stuck in the UK twiddling his thumbs while waiting for the CPS to decide what to do. If they bring charges, he'll be named in the press in a matter of minutes.

I could've sworn it was a few weeks after Mendy, but it seems it was before him, from the dates on links provided on Wikipedia articles.
