No doubt City were expecting LPool to come out fast but in some ways it seemed we were handling it and having a decent amount of the ball but the sheer pace of some of the Pool moves were really hard to handle as was the tackling and quick closing down by Pool when we did have the ball.It's easy to say we should have done this or that but much harder to do.
That first goal was comical.Great pass to Sterling and great movement from him.Also a good touch and he did really well to threaten to pass inside and then turn and score.BUT what the hell was Joe doing to be sold so far down the river. Can't help but say Joe was like a schoolboy on that one.
The second goal I think is just one of those goals that are hard to defend when you look closely at it.It was the perfect delivery from SG and the perfect run and connection from Skirt.The timing was such that the man at the front post could do little and Vinnie's only hope really was to grab his shirt and stopping his run.Should we have had a man on the post but would he have stopped it anyway?
Then in the 2nd half it all changed.Milner was massive in that change as he has great movement and intelligence and we got back to 2.2 and at that time everyone knows we were the team most likely to win.Pool were gone and lost their bottle.We came so close with that Kun/Silva chance and then we gifted the goal with the miskick.
It just shows what fine lines are involved doesn't it.Had we scored and gone on to win MP and City would have been hailed as special and we would probably have gone on to win the league.It would not quite have been Pools time but what a great effort especially considering all the money City and Chelsea have bla bla bla.
But now it's all about what great character and resilience Pool have to withstand City's inevitable fightback and still come back to win the game.In reality they were doing nothing but crumble and we gifted them the goal.But that's football.
If we don't win the league it's not down to yesterday but much more down to losing at Cardiff,Villa and Sunderland where MP arguably was still finding his feet in the premiership.Maybe he/we haven't sorted everything yet but we are much better away from home now as has been proven.Yes you won't win them all and yesterday can happen but throwing 9 points away against rubbish was always going to cost.
It's a long season and there are still chances if we win all remaining games as we know we can.I wouldn't put it past Chelsea to get something from Anfield so we have to be ready and waiting with 2 wins in a row now from here.I think we will be ready.

City = only 1
Is this a reason why we could lose the title?
