He has potential that's for sure but he is not the finished article by any means
He was mate, yes. He was given Southampton’s POTS award.
I like him but that doesn't mean a lot.
Richard Dunne won ours years running but no way a top club would have come in for him.
Not seen many Saints games this season but I can’t say I was blown away by him when I did see them. Difficult to assess I know as he is playing in a poor side who would ultimately be relegated,
But either way, he was never going to get in ahead of Rodri for a good number of years and presumably Lavia himself was either coming to the end of a deal in a year or he wanted more game time. And we took the decision to cash in on him. Which at the time was the right thing for club and player.
He has moved on and that ship has sailed. We can’t always get it right and that’s life

Annoying thing with Lavia is it was obvious he’d be decent. When we sold him to Saints they had a £50m bid from Chelsea for him two weeks later!
Kev was singing his praises a lot as well. Kompany recommend him to us.
It’s up to the top boys and Pep to convince these kids that are special that they have a place here. Palmer for example, what has he done to deserve all the chances last season? Why couldn’t Lavia have been told he’d have had those?
Instead we went and spent £43m on Phillips and then sold Lavia, can you blame the kid for thinking he’d have no chances here?!

On the other hand, he got relegated and we won the treble.
I wonder if he wishes he’d stayed.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

He's a youngster and probably just wanted to be playing regularly.

Bayern banging in a 70 million plus add ons bid for Kane who presumably is up for the move. Levy won’t sell to the scum so this is Kanes chance to join a big Club. Presumably Bayern are ready to deal with Levy. Spurs are in for Maddison and need some cash though.

40m (+ add ons) is the fee being banded around for maddison.... he'd be a good buy for that kind of money

Levy rejects a very reasonable offer from Bayern. Maybe Levy will force him to see out the last year of his contract. I can’t see him extending.

It russian roulette to be honest. I am more on the side if Kane stays this summer, he will sign an extension because of how stupid he is.
I respect loyalty, but you are in a rotten place and you will end up your career with nothing.

Surely even he won’t turn down the chance of a fat signing on fee plus a fresh start if he sees out the contract? Of course at 30 he might even start thinking of Saudi riches.

I wonder if he wishes he’d stayed.
He was on (significantly) under £10K a week with us, and reportedly earns £25K as a basic salary at Southampton.
He's now in a position where he'd easily be able to demand upwards of £60K a week from any interested club, probably even £75K.
From a purely financial perspective, I know which I'd prefer.

Trouble is there are still question marks over 9 more players being sold or sent on loan although tbf most of those won't make much difference eg Cancelo, Gomez, Perrone, Palmer, Phillips - but if Bernardo, Walker, Laporte & Mahrez leave without top quality replacements it's serious

You can’t put in what God left out but you have to have the character to make the most of your opportunities. You don’t get better opportunities than at City. Some youngsters look really good and then blow it. Sad really.

Maddison at £40M is much better value for money than Rice at £105M
