Following Carlos Tevez's revelations he will quit Manchester City next month, several clubs including Spurs, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have already made contact with the player's advisers to open preliminary talks over a transfer.

precisely.
no club has ever been in such a position of power in terms of dealing with this kind of situation before. 0ur aim should be to keep Carlos as a player and onside but if necessary we should be prepared to play ultra hardline on this.
Play, retire or rot (and get sued for BoC)

Press reports connected Joorabchian to City's signing of Robinho in 2008 and suggested that he was exercising a wider influence over the shape of City's transfer policy, specifically in attempting to bring a single megastar to the club to reflect a changed status under the ownership of Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, rather than build a side of proven Premier League performers.[47] Joorabchain admitted to having an informal association with Manchester City in October 2008.[3]
Sources at Manchester City suggested that Joorabchian and Pini Zahavi had developed links to the club under the regime of the previous owner, Thaksin Shinawatra, who had originally appointed the City chief executive Garry Cook. Cook himself said that the club "did not need and did not seek" Joorabchian's help in facilitating the negotiations with A.C. Milan.[2] Joorabchian was involved in the leaking of Carlos Tevez's transfer request to Manchester City on 11th December 2010, by revealing the news to the newspaper, News of the World.
Maybe I forgot that this fuck had so much influence at City at one stage, but this now seems more and more likely that its Kia v Cook and everything else (City, Sheikh, Tevez, fans) does not matter.

They could propose players (plural is voluntary) and pennies. I'd not mind dismantling their side taking away 3 key players while giving them "trouble in waiting" Carlos

Do we need a player like Modric in our team right now? And remember he brings "baggage" (Corluka) with him ;-)
I'd say Tevez and Lescott for Bale, Pavlyuchenko and the croatian combo

Why would we give the best striker in the premiership probably the world on current form to spurs (our rival for fourth) for a shit winger who turns up 1 game out of 3?. If tevez went spurs then they would finish 2nd at lowest. He is the reason we are second on GD now. He needs to leave the prem or stay at city and no other option.
Real Madrid are keen on signing £30million-rated Tevez, with Mancini unwilling to indulge his star striker's whims - despite him being City's player of the season.
"If a top player is not happy to stay here then it's better for him to go to another team," said Mancini.
"This is not just the case for Tevez, but for all players. The same goes for Tevez, for Emmanuel Adebayor, for me, for all.
"It's important that when a manager or player works in a team, he must be happy to work in this team. It's not good for the club, for the squad or the player if he's not.
"Tevez has four years left on his contract. For one player it's important to be happy when working in a team.
"If he's not happy, it's better to change squads, not just for Tevez but for every player."
Mancini has spoken to Tevez over the player's public criticism of him and pointed out the Argentina striker had only once had to take part in a double training session.
"I've spoken to Carlos," said Mancini. "I don't know if he has a problem but he works very well now. I spoke with him but what we said is private.
"I reminded him that only once has he had to train twice in one day.
"We've trained twice in the same day only four times in the five months I've been here.
"Two of those times Carlos was in Argentina and one time he didn't train. So I don't know why [he's unhappy].
"When I speak to a player I don't need an apology. I've played football myself, I know players very well and I know this situation."
