I think it's a win win for City brass. Get him it's a coup, miss him and there are a million reasons why no one but madrid could have pulled it off. The fact that we are having this conversation is astonishing. I mean fucking zidane has to pull out the stops to get him and his dad on board? Says a lot about our progress. Esp. Since we arent just paying over the odds by 30% to make it happen. Im fine with whatever thw result on isco.

Exactly.

We are in a death struggle with Real fucking Madrid for a player & people are slagging off the club. A SPANISH player & Real are having to pull every dirty trick in the book to get him to sign for them. It's unprecedented.

I can't get my fucking head people trying to find a scapegoat for this.

If we don't get him, trying to blame the club is pure thick, for fuck sake this is Real Mardid, as said before he is Spanish! The lure of Madrid / barca to any young Spanish footballer is huge.

I couldn't give two shits about who's to blame if this goes tits up. The fact is, we're still feeding off the scraps from so-called bigger clubs. if we're ever to compete with these fucks, we need players like isco. FFS let's not overlook the fact that a newly promoted side in the dogshit French league have managed to sign rodamel fucking falcao!!

Feeding off the scraps of so called.... Listen to yourself, it is THE BIGGEST CLUB IN THE WORLD that we are or we're up against. The lad is Spanish and the move To RM will allow him a better chance of playing for his National team. The spaniards still pride themselves on playing for their country unlike the prima donors here in England.

As for newly promoted Monaco.. The second we got the cash we signed a marque player and that was all about the cash, which will be the same falcao IMO

Thats because they have chucked stupid money at him, rather like we did at Tevez and YaYa a few years ago. Our wage bill is the highest team wage bill in the sporting world and its not sustainable even with the loopholes that there are with FFP. At some point UEFA will get FFP in order and we will need to be ready. Hence Cavani is a no go. We are not not going to win the league because we dont get Isco. There will be a Plan B. I would rather have players for the long term. Falcao wont be at monaco in 3 years. If Isco wants to sign for City then its for the right reasons, not because we have chucked the most money at him. Silva signed cos he felt how much the club wanted him. Compare that to Bridge, Adebayor etc who signed for the money. Its endemic in football and I dont want to see it at City. You sign for City because you want to.

But Falcao wouldn't be allowed to sign for either Spanish club and Bayern, who are perhaps the other team to trump any other team weren't interested in him.

I completely get your point and you are right, we need to begin winning battles for players, but I think we need to pick our battles carefully.

Madrid is a team that is top of the pecking order unfortunately and our only way to win isn't the money because they will win with FFP backing them, but to sell the club to the player, sell the vision and if that's not enough, then they don't belong in our shirt.

If Isco prefers Madrid because of location and his desire to play for them, fine. Lets move on and find a suitable replacement.

Real, at the moment, is a far greater pull for most players and the thought of Isco having a chance to go there would probably make his footballing dream come true. I'd even suggest that he'd take a far lesser wage just for the chance.

This is not to say that we cannot offer him something more appealing. Coming to us offers further development with less pressure to perform than at Real with also the better proposition of being a first choice player. We also have the 'Project' with long term stability. And then there's our hispanic contingent as well as the Pellegrini affect which could be crucial in any talks, lessening the cultural blow.

For me it's a 60/40 in favour of Real but in the end it will all be down to who offers the greater funds to Malaga and which club is going to give Isco the love and attention to thrive.

He has a BOC it is down to the amigos and the manager to seal the deal, They are on millions to do so.

He is also Spanish with the biggest club in the world possibly wanting to sign him. Forget the weather, forget the restaurants, forget the 'Project' and drop the 'Blue Tints' for a second, sometimes negotiations are not enough.

No blue tints here, I want us to deliver, The changes since the Cup Final for me anyway are you wanted change you got it, now deliver.

Same for with JM and whuy Mancini was right about getting in quick getting out all signed and done. The scum did it for yrs.

Manuel Pellegrini could be dealt his first setback as the Manchester City manager with Málaga's Isco contemplating snubbing his former coach by turning down a move to the Etihad Stadium and signing instead for Real Madrid.

That's the Guardian.

Is there actually any third party media outlet worth reading when even the Guardian drops the fucking snub-bomb?

To be honest I will fault the Club if we lose Isco for this reason. It appears we're not prepared to pay the release clause. If we end up losing our marquee signing for this year for the sake of a few million euros then that worries me. If both Real and ourselves offer the release clause money and he chooses Madrid fair enough but that does not appear to be the case.

There is no reason whatsoever to suggest City will not pay the same as Real Madrid if Isco is willing to sign for us.

That's not what I said (although I've just realised that my phone had put 'should' rather than 'shouldn't). We can go for players that Real or Barca or Bayern etc want, but we need to accept that it'll be difficult. The rags still like to think they're the biggest club in the world, yet Tranny spent two years trying to get to Madrid. That's the pull that a few sides have for certain players. If we pull this off, it'll be a massive coup, but wait for the negative press.

The scum lost Ronaldo to Real Madrid. They were absolutely powerless to stop it. The scum told everyone they had signed Ronaldinho, then he turned up in a fucking Barca shirt at the Nou Camp. The scum scouted David Silva for fucking years, then he signed for City. The scum offered Carlos Tevez a new contract, then he signed for City.

Mancini was full of shit when it came to transfers & misled the public.

Why the fuck would Isco sign for City without reviewing all his options ? Do you think he's fucking stupid ? He'll just jump head first into signing for City 'because we got in quick' ? You actually think Real Madrid just turned up at their offices last week & thought 'hmm let's see if Isco is interested in signing' ? Of course they fucking didn't. They will have made Isco aware of their interest & he would want to hear what they have to say, before deciding anything.

Then we have to wait for his decision.

You tell me how you think we can stop Isco signing for Real Madrid if he decides that's where he wants to play.

Tell me exactly how we do it.

If Isco signs for RM, I'd be disappointed, but because he's Spanish it's probably a more attractive option for him> I'd shrug my shoulders and move on.

On the other hand if he signs for Chelsea or the rags I would be livid.
