we only need to employ VAR if the referee thinks he needs it and that is all.

That's not how it works now, though. Just look at the penalty Sweden got against South Korea. The ref thought nothing of it but was told/ ordered to review it.

Personally I think it should be used on an appeal basis. There appeals per team per match. If it's inconclusive after review vthe ref's initial call stands.

A VAR decision going against the swiss? Ha!

The serbians should be furious, but they had it coming. They played nothing after their goal and the swiss were far superior in every single way and they deserve to go through.

My concern is their celebrations, both Xhaxa and Shaqiri made a mimic of the black eagle of the albanian flag. Sadly, politics and this stuff will always be part of the game.

It's the thought of having to pass the ball to Lukaku!

Got this one on in the background barely heard KDB mentioned, that deep role doesn't appear to agree with him

Martinez has no idea how to use KDB. he was the deepest holding midfielder when fucking Axel Witsel was on the pitch too

Low ringing the changes. Ozil and Khedira predictably dropped.

My first reaction was penalty due to a push in the back. The replay showed that as well as a leg across so no doubt on my mind.

Again, it's how they decide what to call/refer that worries me.

Müller also stopped Forsberg by pulling his shirt when he was clear through on goal ten minutes earlier.

Ha ha ha, he's a gusher. You don't want a real fight with him backing you up.

You never know, there maybe some game management going on.

Gundogan on.

Fuck that ;-)

I'm not sure why I'm against the Germans, I quite like them. Lots of German mates but don't really know any Swede's, yet I find myself compelled to support Sweden over the kraut-munching cunts.

I think the VAR people look at everything and decide whether to advise the ref or not to change his decision. Never been a fan of VAR until both legs of the Champs league this season with the
dippers, but VAR doesn't help at all if the VAR people are in cahoots.

Just for fun...wonder how Germany would do if they just brought the entire B team they took to the Confederations Cup?

They don't look anywhere near what we're accustomed to.

Interesting that they appear to lack the kind of personalities that helped them in the past.
