Pep likes a small squad so ins have to be balanced by outs. Gundogan out Kovacic in. Not the same type of player exactly of course. Gvardiol in Laporte out. Mahrez out so who comes in? If Bernardo stays ( no for the umpteenth time he’s not going to Barca they can’t afford him) and Walker does too then just one more transfer. Olise has to be a strong candidate if he really has a 35 million reserve price and dependent on injury status.

Yes the odd mistake will be made, but I think we mostly get it correct.

We can't keep them all.

Wasn't the majority of the £300m already accounted for? In other words spent.

I think we’ll only know if we’ve made mistakes by selling and not loaning in the next 2-3 years. Most of these kids are 19 or 20 so it’s impossible to tell now if we’ve made mistakes.

Obviously most won’t make it with us, but some of the ones that are highly rated for the EDS don’t get a sniff - yet the likes of Gomez are taking a place in the first team. I think that irks fans the most. A shite player that’s well out of his depth given a chance instead of a kid from the academy that’s done everything we’ve asked of him.

It should never be “play great for the EDS and you could get a good move away”. There should be some sort of path to the first team but it appears blocked at the moment by crap like Gomez, Phillips.

Brazilian winger Willian is hoping to become football’s latest export to Saudi Arabia just over two weeks after signing a new contract with Fulham.
The player has agreed personal terms with Saudi club Al-Shabab and has already communicated to Fulham and the manager, Marco Silva, his intention to leave and begin a new chapter in his career. Fulham, for their part, are determined to rebuff the bids and keep Willian at the club.

What a pathetic human Willian is.

Good for Fulham - but they are not going to keep an unhappy player. Agree that he's a twat for doing this sisoin after signing his cintract with Fulham

Pep says on Bernardo I don’t want any player who doesn’t want to be here but that’s my opinion. We have yet to receive a proper offer. Depressing although at least Txiki and Soriano will apparently insist on a ‘proper offer’ I suppose. We’re unlikely to receive one so I guess he’ll stay but it’s more uncertainty. I wish Pep wouldn’t say things like that.

On Gvardiol he said he was doing his medical and hopefully the transfer in the next few hours or days! Forget the last part. On transfers he said I think we are moving on something but it’s not done yet. For all I know he meant Gvardiol but he may have meant a different deal. He never gives much away.

The odd part is that it was reported he agreed terms with Forest, before re-joining Fulham.

His behaviour compares very unfavourably with his Manager’s who turned down a lot of Saudi money to stay loyal to Fulham.

“We will do everything to keep them," he said. "It is not like [Ilkay] Gundogan as they have contracts.

"We want them to stay because they want to stay. Losing Kyle and Bernardo would be so difficult."

"I want to work with guys who want to stay. [If they don't], we have to get a proper offer [for them]," Guardiola said.

"If we don't get a proper offer, he's [Silva] our player and we want him. If they [Barcelona] want him, they will take a plane and come here and talk to our sporting director and CEO to make an agreement. For us to buy a player, just because we are Man City it is £10-15m more expensive than other clubs all the time. If people want our really really important players, first they have to make an offer - and that hasn't happened.

"When it happens, we will fight to extend the contract and [have them] be with us. That has happened with all of our players since day one."

There’s obviously going to be a full court press by Barca for Bernardo throughout this month. The Barca friendly Press are full of it. One suggestion they offer a loan with an obligation to buy! We had exactly the same thing last year. Sale price for Kane with one year on his contract £100 million. Why should Bernardo go for less? Barca can’t afford anywhere near that of course.

If his missus says it ain't happening then it ain't happening. It's too late to make any kind of a deal now, I think they're trying to appease their fans. Just looks, sounds desperate to me. I fucking hate them

If he signs a new contract that’s the best news all summer.

Makes sense but also makes it more likely we’ll bring in a wide man.

Or keep McAtee with the first team squad? Give Alvarez more game time?
