He was on loan and mere shadow of his former self.

He was still streets ahead of anyone we had at that time other than Kinky.

Mike Lester

Tony Grealish

Gordon Dalziel

Gordon Smith, now head of the Scottish Football Association (I think?)

Tony Cunningham (AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Going from Trevor Francis to Tony Cunningham inside a year and a bit was quite wretched.

Barry fucking Silkman

Jason van Blerk

Gary Mason

(ooh) Gordon Davies (in the area)

Ged Brannan

Gerry Taggart, the worst right back in the history of the universe. Turned into a good international centre-half though. Good lad he was.

John Gidman. Yes, he used to be a mune, blah blah blah, but was good for us at the time and helped our Youth Cup winners make a lot of progress.

I was always surprised at how long we managed to keep David Phillips.

Three. Alan Kernaghan scored the other from the half-way line. Really. I am not winding you up, I promise.

That was a very bizarre game, almost like all the planets had gone out of whack.

I've got the creme de la creme - the legend that is Michael Frontzeck. One footed, one paced and looked like Homer Simpson.

And who can forget the walking comedy that was Christian Negouai's city career, handball goals, multiple sendings off and the guy had trouble walking properley. The only player we've ever had with all the vowels in his surname apparently! You couldn't have made up his career at City in a book, starting with KK's "most exciting signing" analysis.

Alioune Touré, I had completely forgotten about him. Went to PSG as part exchange for Anelka.

Michael Branch, Nigel Clough, Gerry Creany, Eddie McGoldrick, Simon Tracey, Tony Scully, Tony Grant, Craig Russel, Carl Griffiths, Neil Heaney............ they all made school (almost 90% united support) that little bit more unbearable.

And who can forget that Willie 10% was meeting Toure for lunch, but just happened to bring another one of his players with him on his way up to Sunderland, the rest is history

Hang on! Didn't he get some sort of rare circulation condition during his time at City? Like the type of thing you might get if you don't stretch your legs every now and then on a long-haul flight? That the same fella?
