Having said that, I'm sure Tevez will stay.

Nahhh, I don't think he'll stay. Not beyond the Summer anyway. But I do totally agree with you about winning without Tevez, mate.

This is a massive test for the club and the way we're percieved. We have a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot at exactly the wrong moment and this a the perfect example of how good we are at it. If we can come through this little episode unscathed, still in contention and smelling of roses, then we have no choice but to believe.

I'm starting to believe. It does seem a shame that we had all those missed opportunities earlier. But the football is much better now and looks like a winning formula.

Typical City - as soon as it goes well on the pitch something off the pitch goes wrong!

In all honesty I think the Sunday papers were hoping we lost yesterday, that would prove we couldn't win without Tevez and we were now a club in crisis, they would have loved that!

i agree with spazby.. although i did say earlier that it would be the Everton game that really confirmed it for me. They truly had our number last season and fucled us up. A lot has changed but it is the psychology of it and perhaps more importantly for me, i want to see that Mancini has learnt enough to understand how to deal with teams in the prem and Everton represent the perfect test in view of last season.
If we get Everton then i am going officially 100% on board.

deJong's absence is a bit of a concern though, but just like Tevez it is something the team have to learn to deal with.

Believe my arse.

I really don't want Torres now (originally I was a big fan) but after seeing his display yesterday (or lack of it) he's definately not the sort of player we want.

Thing is, I reckon the reason he is playing like that is because he wants out, I don't think it would take much to persuade him away. Big question marks over his fitness/form but he is very talented.

Well played as well dazby.

Worst case scenario...Tevez is a gonner....Someone will probably be brought in and in the meantime someone else will have to step up to the mark.
We have a squad of experienced professionals. Now is the time for those who remain to step up to the plate and fill any gaps.
...and if we are to remain at the top, that includes the fans who can drive the players forward and create the energy for success.

WE CAN DOTHIS.

It's the ability to overcome crises like this that makes teams champions. None of the rest are pulling up trees yet, and, as long as thet's the case we're in there with a damn good shout..

How does that sit with you?

I love it. I especially love the fact that we have been just off the shoulders of the leaders which has meant no pressure.

Loving it big time.

I still notice every commentary never mentions City. Just how many points Chelsea are behind Arsenal or Scum. And that Spuds are apparently title contenders, despite travelling worse than a seasick virgin. Richard Keys even grumpily said "lets get this straight - they are NOT equal top, they are second.....". RAG twat.

Some truth in that. But it's also true that we seem to be getting it all together at a crucial time - three/four weeks ago I was calling for Mancini's head, not any more :-)

Untill our next defeat :s

i can't truly believe after seeing the way we approached the arsenal game at the emirates. we're looking good going forward so i'm happy but we have to beat the teams around us. we've gotta go to old trafford and stamford, and everyone knows how hopeless we are against any tottenham side.

yesterday I was a believer at 1500 - not at 1520 - back on board at 1545 and fucking nailed on certain at about 1615, then back to a quivering wreck

Seriously though we are coming good at a good time - just like when in horse racing you see a horse coming through on the rails with a 'double handful' - just hope that the line does not come too soon

I was a believer last season and was wrong. But I'd rather have belief in my team and be wrong than accepting of a defeatist attitude.

Put that in 6ft letters with lights round it. Well in Slim.
At some point...probably AFTER we have succeeded...maybe, some of these defeatists will catch up.
