It's not a 'little bonus' it would be hugely, hugely significant if we got 3rd.

Quite the opposite. We won something, brilliant for the LONG SUFFERING SUPPORTERS. So we have chance to guarantee more money, brilliant for the club.

It's not more money, it's the chance to play in the most prestigious club competition in world football. Almost as if you don't want us to be in it.

What the hell? We have already earned the chance to play CL.

I'd also challenge the claim that Chumps league is "the most prestigious club competition in world football". I don't know how old you are and absolutely no offence but European Cup may have been prestigious. For ME, CL is bit of joke competition where clubs get without actually being Champions of any sorts. I still miss old form of competitions, which weren't (only) about milking money. I mean, how great would it be if we were going to play in Cup Winners Cup next year? Now there was a proper competition.

OD: I thought I made it perfectly clear that it's big deal for the owners and the Club financially. FA Cup win was billion trillion miles bigger thing for ME.

You're basically saying you don't value the Champions League. Take it you didn't celebrate when we beat Spurs then because it means nothing to you.

"Means nothing to me" is quite an exaggaration don't you think? I may not value it as highly as some people do though. For me the ultimate aim is to see us win the League. Perhaps numerous times. That's where it's at. European competitions FOR ME are just a bonus. It'd be brilliant to see us lift CL at some stage but League is what I dream of.

And I always celebrate when we win. That is laughable comment.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

You ask any team and they'd give their left arm to be in the Champions League and you think it's a 'bonus'.

The fact is we have to win one more game to avoid playing a top team in a qualifier.

Well I don't ask any teams what I should think. For me personally leagues is and always will be number one competition for any team. That's where it's at. I'm sure there are people, perhaps even majority, who think CL is some sort of ultimate goal. I don't. There must be people who think World Club Cup or whatever that shitty tournament is called, is the best competition out there. I mean rags forfeited FA Cup that one year to participate.

My ultimate goal is for City to be the best club in all the land and the world. For that being in CL is the most important step.

1) more money
2) better players

It is IMO impossible to win the league without a few years in the CL. Both for experience and the players it attracts.

I think winning the CL would give us more of a great reputation and thus attract better players thus making us better. Since being the best is my dream, I rate CL the highest:-)

Still, I am a City fan and I'll cherish any trophy like a newborn:-P
