I think Bolton would like a deal much more than we would. £17m? Do me a favour - he's no better than what we already have and wouldnt unseat Kompany or Lescott barring an injury.

He definitely would be competition to Lescott, he is of that quality and imo he's better than Kolo purely because he can deal with aerial threats.

So in terms of squad depth and strength I think a move for him is a sound idea, 8-10 million and offloading onouha to Bolton is a good deal in my eyes, for both us and them.

Oh dear.

You're in for a big reality check if he does pitch up at City. Ask a few Bolton fans how high they rate him.

Showed up well in that semi against Stoke, and is done like a kipper by top forwards like Drogba, Anelka et al on a regular basis. Wouldn't pay £7m for him, let alone £17m.

I think Liverpool are going to be undone (more so) by buying expensive, overpriced young English prospects.

I'd agree on that, as £20m for someone like Jordan Henderson (if those rumours are true) would be complete folly.

Fuck me £20M for Henderson, and people say we pay over the top. I think Liverpool might be trying to make the Carroll buy look better with this.

It actually does seem it is. Henderson really is talented lad though. They are paying WELL over the odds here but Dalglish is fantastic manager and I think he knows what he is doing. People (including one Liverpool supporting mate of mine) laughed at me when I'd say that Dalglish would be in full flow in no time and look what he did to them in short time.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Henderson is average. 20 Million is pure insanity for a player I have never seen do anything of real merit.

The premiums on English players are obscene, if he was french Henderson would be worth less than 5 Million. Fact.

With players like Gervinho, Hazard, Witsel and others out there all primed to be bought on the cheap you seriously have to question what the fook Liverpool are playing at, as all are superior players.

20 Million for Henderson. Niall is laughing all the way to the bank.

It is a huge price for him. He is not a regular for England and correct me if i am wrong, he didn't get called for the Swiss game.
On the other hand, buying Cahill means that Boateng is on his way to Munich?

That's the key. If Boateng goes we will get a replacement. Frankly I'd be happy to swap Boateng for Cahill, at least Cahill is proven at prem level, I still harbour reservations over Boateng if i'm honest.

Gobsmacked that Livepool are willing to pay that amount for Henderson, thats absolutely crazy money for a kid who is only half decent.Have never seen anything from him to make me think he is capable of becoming a world class player.

I could understand a bid of such for a player like Wilshire who stands out as a real talent but Henderson?????

This looks like a "Paul Konchesky" type of deal.
Hopefully Aj will stay and scousers can fuck off and go buy Frank Sinclair. I'm sure that Carragher needs a good owngoaler right at his side.

Another "homegrown" United player. Oh wait, no thats what they like you to believe when in fact they haven't produced a decent "homegrown" player in a good while.

I liked the look of Phil Jones, think he has real potential. Shame he's going to them. I reckon he will be used as a bit part player this season and replacing Ferdinand next.

Jordan Henderson looks like he has already reached his potenial so not a good move for Liverpool I reckon. They seem to have more money than sense at the mo. Wonder if they'll keep on spending now the Torres money has dried up?
