Actually you're American, we are all impressed when you realise there is a world outside of your own country, we set lower standards when asking you to keep up with what's going on in it.

Mario Balotelli's sister, Cristina, on BBC Radio 5 live: "Mario is very calm, nice and determined. I know he wants to do his best. He is very relaxed about tonight's game and confident. He was very playful when I spoke to him. I love him for the way he is. Knowing him, I'm sure he is looking forward to this match because he will meet his friends from England."

seems Prandelli is gonna have a positive approach:
4-3-1-2
1 G. BUFFON 7
I. ABATE 15 A. BARZAGLI 19 L. BONUCCI 6 F. BALZARETTI 8
C. MARCHISIO 21 A. PIRLO 16 D. DE ROSSI 18
R. MONTOLIVO 9
M. BALOTELLI 10 A. CASSANO
in light of the above I see a little advantage for italy: more positive solutions and Mario.

however, good luck to England, just hope no Blue get injured

Great thread.

I'm a bit disappointed Hodgson's not gone for a more offensive player than Milner down the right - I think Italy could be gotten at down the wings

my very same idea.
I was talking over the phone with Jonathan, suggesting that Woy should have dared to move Milner in the middle for SP making way to walcott. if anything Italy can get caught with pace. slower the tempo and Italy turn favorite.

If you ask me, i think he did good. He will use Walcott in the second half, when Italy would have slowed the tempo and will definitelly be a bit tired.

I thought Italy were going to use three at the back again with wingbacks, but he clearly didn't feel the need. If we shackle Pirlo we can take them out.

It's almost as if Hansen and Shearer are being deliberately inflammatory as surely they can't be that stupid ?

I dunno about not being that stupid, I remember his effort at trying to manage Newcastle...

Funny isn't it, at Mario's young age he's already got more medals than Shearer. Seems unable to acknowledge his previous accomplishments at Inter and then somehow forgets the FA Cup and Premier League wins.

I think Hansen has a problem with Mario as well ;-)
