Only thing of note in that game is Kompany's hamstring injury which could be brutal for us.

If its strain we are looking at 3-4 weeks to get fit, and then he wont be match fit either. The race will be on to have him up to speed for Liverpool away on the 26th Aug which is the first game we desperately need him. When players get injured in pre-season it disrupts the whole timing of their fitness program to get up to speed for the start of the season - as demonstrated by Ya Ya doing his ankle last July, and trying to play whilst blowing out of his arse in the Community Shield and at home to Swansea.

Kompany's injury also highlights again how badly we need another class c-half. One injury and we are down to Savic and Kolo alongside Lescott - a scary thought.

Firstly, it's 'our' academy. Secondly it is "it's". Thirdly and most importantly, it was a friendly game. Nothing more, nothing less.

Mancini must be pretty unimpressed with our football.
No goals. We gave the ball away too easily and a lack of creativity in midfield and upfront.
We dont seem to have much quality in depth within the squad.
I agree Helan look as if he might have something? confident and pacy going forward but a little clumsy in defence.
VK's injury is a worry.
The last 2 games have not been good for spreading the "City = good football message" across the world.
We urgently need CB cover and the likes of Silva and Nasri back to create some chances.

No injury, just Vince avoiding the card and looking like he chopped someone down. You don't deal with someone for cramp if they have a hamstring problem.

2 games + 0 goals = disgrace. Everyone at the club OUT!!

Carroll is available. Get him in. He'll score.

Only had time to flick the match on very briefly - I thought we'd signed a new OAP for our usual token OAP slot, then realised it was Helan. The lad looks OLD.

Fucking hell!
It's not about spreading anything. It's about slowly building fitness so that come may and april 2013 our lads will be sharp. Last thing we need right now is Silva and Nasri. They need rest and we need them to rest.

Some people here clearly don't understand meaning of preseason friendlies.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Exactly Antti anyone would think we got points in pre-season the way some go on about the games.

So did we learn much from that?
- not much to say about the first teamers - just a run out for them
- Savic hasn't improved
- Weiss trying to impress - and did a few times
- Rekik again impressive
- Biton pretty solid
- Lopes looked good, but a bit raw and will need to stop fouling.
- the other youngsters - nothing to get excited about
- we created very little against a team who defended in numbers and put in a lot of effort

Presumably Besiktas are going to be more of a test. Although hopefully they'll attack more and that'll create more space.

So did we learn much from that?
- not much to say about the first teamers - just a run out for them - Agree
- Savic hasn't improved - Agree
- Weiss trying to impress - and did a few times - Agree, looked the most dangerous player in blue
- Rekik again impressive - Disagree, too many hollywood balls attempted. poor distribution
- Biton pretty solid - Agree - decent distribution
- Lopes looked good, but a bit raw and will need to stop fouling. - Agree
- the other youngsters - nothing to get excited about - Agree, pretty average and struggled with simpled passes
- we created very little against a team who defended in numbers and put in a lot of effort - Agree

Presumably Besiktas are going to be more of a test. Although hopefully they'll attack more and that'll create more space.
