From what I've seen of the UAE this ain't going to be easy.

Can't believe Rose is out, thought he had a good game last out.

It looks like we could have done with the qualifying stages to get some game time (not that we'd have qualified if that was the case).

I know it would be a huge inconvenience to clubs to let players have go to do a bit of extra training/friendlies but if we're going to the Olympic games other than to make up the numbers I think we should have shown a bit more commitment to getting a more well oiled machine going.

Omar Abdulrahman is fantastic. Such awesome quick feet. Would love him in a City shirt.

There's been a few impressive players tonight. Knocking it about well and pressuring when tjey haven't got it. Unlucky to be down IMO.

Not really an inconvenience mate, we'd just send the youth team players.

Amazing how the game changes once you get the old shit Giggs off.

Stuart Pearce - tactical genius. If only we gave him a bit more time at City......

He's still only 27, his best days are ahead of him. I heard we could be back in for him if RVP is a dead end. We need a flair player, could be good business.

Depends if we're gonna play him up front or force him out on the left.

Strange to think he's won more medals than quite a few of ours.

Including the SPL Player of the month award in September 2008. Something the likes of Aguero can only dream about acheiving! ;)

To be fair, he spent the change from that deal on Joe Hart. I'm no fan of Pearce as a manager, and said from day 1 (to much abuse on here) that he hasn't got the brains for it, but I think people are OTT with their criticisms and abuse of him.

Is anyone else really enjoying all this Team GB footy lark? Joe Allen is playing great. I'm pleased for him and Bellers that they've had a chance to play some decent international footy. They're both working their bollocks off. Micah looks like he's enjoying himself too.

On balance - and given that he couldn't take Euro 2012 players - I think Pearce chose the correct three over-23s. Giggs is a slimy mune, but in a footballing sense you have to hand it to him as a fella pushing 40.

Butland looks very capable as well. This should give him enough experience to be a safe choice as England's no.2/13.
