Not today though

Making two poor punches which hit the ground within the penalty area is not good enough.

I'm happy that he kept a clean sheet.

The punches didn't look great, but nothing came of them and he was being impeded both times

Fairly. He sent me one saying I was a lucky cunt. I just smiled.

That's a bit harsh, mate! Perhaps he could just work on it in training....

they should let that number 2 keeper have more games. he is pretty decent and he saved that pen against the swamp last season in the fa cup.

Was it really his 200th match? Seems to have flown by - Alan Oakes might be getting worried at this rate!

Do you think it is ok that he consistently fails to reach safety with his punches or is it just that that his performance should not be analysed? I have said on several Joe Hart threads this season that I think he is one of the best young keepers in the world and I stand by that but he is not the finished article and has got to try and improve.

I defer to Fu as to the current thinking of the "best practice" in goalkeeping but I really don't like his constant default to punch position. Some of the times when he softly punches into the danger area he could have caught the ball IMO. I know catching appears to be out of fashion but even if he came to catch and spilled it I don't think he would have created more danger then looping it to one of the opposition stood in acres of fucking space.

He is shakey this season. He needs to sort it out

Best practice?

M&Ms bullying and indulging
Loads of vagina
Dog drama

On second thought, that actually might work for young Joe. Have a word please.

@OptaCity: 10 - #MCFC's Joe Hart has now kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season (10). Scalp.

This could turn in to one of those what does yaya actually do threads...

The defence has got more solid with Nasty partnering Kompany , they seem to be getting better and better together.

Our midfield is getting it's act together too, snuffing danger out before it can spread. It's no accident this is at the same time as Milner's run in the team.

Milner had had a great run of games, but Nasty and VK's partnership is getting better every game. Nasty is a very good CB, but will be the best CB in the world in time.

Nothing about our defence seemed better on the weekend. Sloppy work all around and lucky we weren't playing anyone better.
