What was said this morning is that the original story which emerged was that he told the full story. What was now coming out was that he hadn't actually told the story as the details were sketchy.

I can imagine he said something like 'As NASA said, feed the monkey' assuming everyone would get the reference. I hadn't heard that story until last week, so I'd have probably been a bit shocked as well.

I'm thinking (with recent turns) that Welbeck decided to 'Feed the CamelGob'!

Nope, he has been on twitter saying (what any rational human being would say) that it is a complete non-story.

Well I read at weekend that the "journalist" who the player went directly to clearly states that the player was seriously thinking about putting his neck on the line and coming out in public but finally elected not to do so. He also said that there were a number of players who felt the same. Part of the problem is that Townsend has lied and is a turncoat because initially he was enraged at the comment in the dressing room but then came out in public and said that he wasn't bothered. This angered the other players even more.

I suspect that some of the players are probably the rag element because Rat Boy piped up and asked Roy to explain to the players what he meant by the comment after looking at their faces.

There is more than meets the eye with this little fiasco and we have had these rag bastards shit on England before. Remember a few years ago when Rat Boy was givin it the Arthur Scargill with the backing of Beckscum and the other rag players threatening to strike if they didn't get paid more when playin for England? And they got their way too!

How is that a racist joke?

Are footballers just that dense?

Maybe we should revisit what Anton Ferdinand and Evra heard, might well have been a joke with a banana in it.

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Banana.

Knock knock.

Who's there?
Orange.
Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

So racist, so very very racist of me.

If that is true then why did so many report it initially as him having told the full joke/analogy? Shirley for their own sales they would rather report it as him having just using a reference to the analogy such as the one you've suggested. I smell bullshit.

This is a a major reason why i won't watch England because of rag elements involved in the setup. Ratboy was spawned by a sex offender!

What was mentioned yesterday morning is that the FA official line was that the full joke was told so the papers went with that. There was now some doubt over that, although there seems to have been little fuss made since, so who knows.

Yes, but who told Roy Hodgson the joke in the first place? It wasn't Ron Atkinson by any chance?

If i've understood correctly, Hodgson was infering that the full back, (Walker), wasn't having the best of games & for him to pass it to the winger, ( Townsend), who was having a good game.

Call me stupid but it appears that if Hodgson had picked Micah he wouldn't have had to play Walker who is shit; ergo he wouldnt have made the gaffe he did with the monkey reference.

I'm not calling you stupid but Kyle Walker was suspended for the match in question.

Sorry. I am stupid then, bit of a schoolboy error. Whoever the fullback was. Point is the same though

Smalling, wasn't it? It looked like he'd been tasked with playing as a third central defender while letting Baines do his thing as a glorified winger. I thought it was deliberate on the night, and basically played to the strengths of both the 'fullbacks'.

Hence him offering nothing in terms of support to Townsend, so Hodgson's criticism was correct.

That's probably because Smalling isn't a fullback. He's obviously England's best defender, apart from Phil Jones, but he still isn't a fullback.

If Micah can get back to playing every other game in rotation with Zaba, he should be getting his Samba skirt out ready for summer.

I agree I can never understand why Richards has so few caps, the shite we play in the rb position is astonishing, and that's we're most goals that England concede come from, I can't stand walker and Johnson is just another Heskey, ( prob got some secret photos of helda hodgson up to no good)
I do tho believe that it was either shit ass welbeck or spoilt Sturridge that went to the press,
Who ever did it should never play for England
Again because how
Can you as a player rely on that person

You can't understand how a guy, who could well get injured tonight whilst on the bench, has so few caps?
