This time he didn't do that. He did not have am amazing Kompany-esque game but I've rarely seen any of our CBs over the years have those. He was steady and safe though and as an emergency stand-in for Vinny...that is all I want and need him to be.

And, as such, it was a pretty big improvement

Garcia has one advantage over Nastasic imo, he is way way better at jumping for a header. But he has even less idea about position.

Both he & Nastasic did ok individually though imo, but the defence as a whole has no understanding & is all over the fucking place & gets little protection from anyone except Fernandinho.

Each game is Russian roulette.

Don't disagree with that....it's worrying. What I don't understand is how it can have gone to pot like it has.

Vinnie being largely absent has not helped and the shield of GazBaz has been missed but I don't understand how a group of defenders who have been top level for the last few seasons all of a sudden look like the Keystone Cops....the lack of protection in front of them does not help I know but the way they have been played through at times is fucking terrifying and just bamboozling

It is indeed. The goal should never have happened. We had several chances the clear it up the pitch and failed. I was shouting at the Telly way before it went in. Nastasic played a poor ball down the flank and Nasri controlled poorly, then failed to block the pass or even challenge the guy. By the time the cross came in, Gatcia was totally out if position and ball watching. Downing got lucky and did not mean the flick lob for Vaz Te. I thought it was awful defending.

Having a week to stew it over, as much as Aguero rightly stole the headlines, I think Silva on the day was your best performer.

Granted, probably each of yours played better than his counterpart and many had good or even very good games, but Silva, on form, is unplayable. Like on our patch.

Its going to be an interesting title chase, even for the neutral.

Good luck at the London 'Swamp' tomorrow.

I was very impressed by Noble. He's really consistent. Great player for you!

Had a very busy match against you, yes.

Obviously a crowd favourite for us, born within a mile or so of the ground.

Wouldn't complain if he played his whole career in our colours.
