I'm certain I've had this discussion recently.

I'm fairly certain you'd keep a few clean sheets for Spain dazby. They don't defend that much at times.

1 other thing worth noting is the difference between international football and the premiership. Id venture a guess that Spain regularly play against nations with very little chance of beating them if they simply keep hold of the ball and wear them down. Garcia is absolutely good enough to play simple keep ball and give it back to the playmakers. It's a slower, more technical brand of football quite often.

It saddens me that so many people fail to see the difference between the average Spain match and the demands of the average premier league game. Either way, even if he came straight from winning the world at Barcelona, if he plays like shit at my club I'm entitled to say so.

Are you seriously wanting to compare an average game like QPR vs Fulham , with a game like Sweden vs Germany ( recently where nothing was to play for) ?

Didn't see the Sweden Germany hand sorry.

I have however watched Spain play around with plenty of opposition with little threat in return on a few occasions.

I've also seen Garcia look like a dear in the headlights in the prem regularly.

Also the Mancini comment above. At least he spotted it early and played Barry ahead of him. Someone deemed surplus to requirements this season.

Despite his incomprehensible affections for Gasper Garcia our Pellegrini Falcon will either be swooping for a replacement in January or risk being shot down

(Milly in the middle in the meantime methinks)

Javi Edghill was injured early that impacted on how much he played. He also wasn't brought in as a Barry replacement, he was De Jong's replacement. He did start almost half of our league games last season and 4 from 6 of our CL games.

Can't basically disagree with you and i'm not at all a fan of Garcia, but some on this site hurl abuse at the guy and he's quite a good footballer. I would rather have Barry though even above Ferdi too in midfield and i'm quite sure we would be sitting atop the league today if Gareth wasn't at Everton.

The sad thing is I applauded the move as well as early doors I honestly thought javi would add more creativity from the spot. Sadly he just doesn't have the physical attributes to be a destroyer in the prem.

I don't hurl much abuse from continents away, but I do despair at his constant selection.

I know you don't. I don't disagree with most of what you say either. I just get frustrated at the Javi bashing in general ( how many times do some want to tell us he's shit? ), I think he's a decent squad player but can't see him ever being good enough to be a regular in a top side's starting XI.

Not even a squad player. We should have better.

Yeah I remember someone on here referring to Del Bosque as something like a 'Fat clown', what does Mr. Del Bosque know eh, that we don't?

Indeed.

I'm getting a bit despairing on here these days. We've got people screaming for Lescott, who would look out of place holding the ball in a Sunday league game, and people screaming against Garcia, who is clearly better on the ball than most of the players we've had in the last 30 years.

Once again you are picking on Lescott for special abuse, even though he was more influential, more active & better at passing the ball than Garcia in our most recent game.

If Lescott is so shit in that respect & Garcia is so good, how can Lescott possibly come out of a game with better passing stats than Garcia ?

Surely, it cannot be the case that the difference is as extreme as you like to make out ?

I don't get it either. Maybe it's his dreamy eyes or swarthy good looks that managers find irresistible.

I truly hope Garcia doesn't start for us today, I can't fathom what Lescott has done to be rated behind Garcia for the centre back role the other week. As for moving him in front of the back four he's still shit, don't see what Pellers sees in him.
