Ahhh, the "qualify yourself as a supporter" response.

No mate. Blue all my life. Withington born and bred.

Point is, there is no better way of flicking the v's at the rags than by us winning trophies. I'm in this, and always have been, because I love City and want them to win. I honestly don't give two fucks about United anymore unless it's derby day.

Agreed mate. I can't comprehend how a city fan would prefer City 3rd and Rags 5th to City 1st and Rags 4th. It just doesn't make sense.

As fun as the Rags demise is, nothing, nothing ,nothing could give me more joy then seeing us win the league.

I'd like to see the rag cunts get beaten because it would be yet another step towards them finishing outside of the top four. We have the firepower to win the league without needing our rivals to lose.

Agree with this. I am a City fan first and foremost. I want to see our club win trophies. I want to see our team win by playing great football and scoring lots of goals. This season I will hopefully be celebrating broken scoring records galore with a couple of trophies. One would be great. Two would be magnificent.

To this end I honestly couldn't give a flying fuck where the rags finish. It would of course be superb if they finish out of top4 or lower. In reality if they were 2nd I'd still be overjoyed if we won the Prem. 1st is 1st and 2nd is nowhere. Can't remember who said that but i'll abide by that. The only way we will take over from them is by winning things, ideally the Prem. 3 or 4 more titles for us and they'll be fucked anyway. Support will drop off, revenues will fall and they'll end up like the dippers. Threatening but with no real venom.

The idea of wanting more harm to another team rather than good to mine is a nonsense for me. I understand others views and respect them. Each to their own. Football is about opinions after all and ultimately we are all fighting the same cause. CTID

I reckon we should have a garbage section in the other forums, where all items about the rags can be placed, for those who want to go filtering through the dross. That way the Maine forum wouldn't be infected by posts about them

Any one of three possible results provides pleasure in its own way.

A plethora of injuries for both wouldn't go amiss

The johnyy come lately thing is fucking annoying. If you wanna be proud for having followed a club for 200 years of immense supporter hardship that's fine, you're ride is definitely better than mine who's only been in it for less than ten years. BUt don't shove it down other people's throats. You didn't cure cancer, you followed a football team. It's definitely something to be proud of and I envy all the emotional reward that's coming to anyone who's been through the eighties and nineties. Definitely. But it's hardly something to show of to other people.

FOr what it's worth, I'd prefer us third and United fifth for a season or two. We'll continue to win stuff while not wobbling financially and they'll be faced with increasing economic hardship as well as mediocrity on the field and on the bench.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Honestly I can relate with people who would prefer us 3rd if it meant they came 5th, I hate them with more passion than it healthy too. That said City have to come first, and us winning the league is far more important than whether they make top 4 or not.

Just want to see a decent game unlike the last time these 2 met. It's a win/win for us whatever the score is.

The rags are just another team.. Chelsea are our rivals... I hope some of my rag mates have a good weekend.

p.s

I think some blues are living in some sort of fear.. or believing the rags jibe about history. Dont forget we are going places they have never been.

What would irk the rags more (those who can actually be fazed)?
Us wanting them to lose because of our hatred for them
or
Us wanting them to win because we feel that Chelsea are a threat and no longer them?
I feel it would be the latter.

It's quite sad that some people would prefer us not to win something if it meant United finished outside of the CL. Seeing United struggle is always good to see, but not at the expense of our own success. Why on earth would anyone in 10 years time want to look back and say 'remember that amazing season when we finished 3rd and United finished 5th'? No one would! But we would remember our captain lifting a trophy and whatever United did would be irrelevant!

Fortunately for us, the club is only focused on winning trophies.

This debate is all pretty immaterial - Chelsea are going to do them ; 3 - 0 I predict.

I fucking hate the rags and all my heart says come on Chelski thrash them. For ten years in the army in the 80s I had to put up with so much shit from scum fans (and dipper fans) it was untrue. However, I see Chelski as our main threat for the title.

However, as much I want Chelski to thrash those rags wankers, Im a blue and want us to win the league, so i'm tied and will go for a draw

Now here's the conundrum, who honestly thinks this game is anything but a Chelski victory, so regardless of what I want, the rags being so shit wont get any type of a result from this game!

I think this is a win win win situation. Defo a game you can relax and watch without giving a fuck what the result is.

Unless you have money on it, come on Chelsea.
