A blatant and embarrassing forgone conclusion - this obvious match fixing has shat all over the beautiful game and has given the thumbs up to match fixing at all levels.
And what do our pundits do . . Just brush it off and carry on like it didn't happen when there should be protests from all sides.

So very fucking wrong!

It certainly stank tonight.

A ref of that calibre shouldn't be near a game like that. Whether he has the ability to call the right decisions is one thing.... whether he is easily influenced by important factors/people is an entirely different story.

Please God, there is a major upturn.

The last world cup was largely shite. Vuvus apart. But I was/am looking forward to this one.

Please let football win. At least win the vast majority of it.

If you ignore the angle across the goal (which incidentally I still think shows a foul) watch the referees position from the aerial camera, he has a head on, perfect view of the incident, the defender has his left hand on the attacker's shoulder, and the attacker then falls in that direction, and it definitely looks from that angle in real time that he fell because of the hand on the left shoulder

The referee was duped, I can 100% see why he gave it in the heat of the moment, but this is simulation and a ref not being able to spot it from where he was stood, not a ref out of his depth.

Going to be doubly difficult to beat Brazil on the strength of that.

Officials are not going to let them be knocked out easily.

Brazil looked poor. That ref shouldn't be allowed to oversee any further World Cup matches this year

Only thing worse than the officiating was the goalkeeping. Both were awful throughout.

Anyone watching that Brazil side thinking they will win it needs their head read in my opinion. Take away the dive and put a decent keeper in and they'd be brought down to a team of step over pansies. They constantly ignored great overlapping runs, waited until strikers were at the corner flag to play through and insisted on making it a FIFA street game Everytime.

Sometimes it's fun to watch, but wait til they play a decent organized opposition who aren't afraid to go back at them.

you do have to wonder. his work rate is exactly what the team was missing, especially in the first half. and he will help their shaky defence.

I was thinking the same thing. How on earth those centre midfielders are preferred ahead of him I'll never know.

Fernandinho would have mopped up in centre mid before Croatia broke away to score their goal.

World Cup is crap , what a steal at start . Give them a Trophy and say right now who needs to go in last 16 so that FIFA make big money so we can end this crap.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

You don't win the World Cup in week 1. The Argies have at the last couple of tournaments started on fire then faded. You want to peak at the right time.

For now, just get through.

Can't see Argentina putting up with that shite that was going on last night , the ref was obviously told not to let Brazil lose . This dispute being horribly embarrassing in the extreme could blow up big style in FIFA,s face ........ they do riots and stuff in South America you know ;-)

Pretty much yeah. I mean da fuck does he has his hands on Fred anyway? Either you embrace the player and make it look like a fifty fifty tug or you pull his shirt from behind. Stupid decision by Lovren (Jovren or whatever).

It was a soft penalty but come on, are you lot gonna sit here from game one and moan about conspiracies? Can't you just vent your anger in the threads about real conspiracies or scary non-profit but world dominating organizations, I.E. the Qatar thread or John's thread?

I thought it was a good game and with this win under their belt, the Brazil confidence will be riding high into the mexico game which is probably their hardest group game. Marcelo and Alves need to get their act together though, otherwise it's gonna be a hell of a ride for them.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Mate, the conspiracy, paranoia crew on here get on my tits with their over-reactions and sensationalism but even I thought there was something fishy going on last night.
Brazil really did get a lot of things going their way. The penalty at best was very soft and so was Croatia's disallowed goal.

Conspiracy theorist crew eh?

I have a fair idea when something stinks and I point it out. The same blind dickhead crew were the very ones trying to convince us for the last four years that the media were impartial and there isn't corruption at the highest level in football.

I am very sceptical about areas of football, particularly the politics. Because it's a game I love and for some reason, the "flaws" in the game take generations to fix. The more flaws fixed, the less influence on the game. The less influence on the game, the less money some people make.

It's quite simple really. It's not like I'm trying to say bobby kennedy shot jack, or mgm filmed the moon landing in a basement.

I say what I see.

Sparty, you said what you saw. That's fine, but stop trying to make those of us who have a fair idea what's going on to be paranoid weirdos.

I could just as easy wade in, calling you naive cunts at the drop of a hat, but I don't.

You have your views on how football at this level is run at all times. I have mine.
