excellent post Sparty .... i think it's also the case that Mourinho would attempt to destabilize ANY competing club, it's exceptionally galling (and hypocritical) of him that he should use FFP in his mind games against City, for the obvious reasons laid out by previous posters. The points raised in the 'BIAS' threads about media soundbites and pantomime villains etc. still hold true and José gives 'good face'......this is why lazy journalists like him. I also agree with the above. I think Mourinho is very transparent and not really that clever at all, or interesting for that matter. I think the fact that he is being given a free pass in the media to say what he likes without being challenged speaks volumes about the media in general. They are equally transparent, to us and I would say, to more people in the UK than would probably admit it. It's true this bullshit gets lapped up around the world and is fact in the mind of those that know no better, but I think there are plenty in the UK that do know better, but choose to keep with the program, because it is slapping us down.
As for over here in Ireland, sometimes I despair at the ignorance of some quarters as to the true nature of the modern game.
Mourinho is a nasty piece of work but I don't think he has fully filled the void of the bullying that Fergie got up to.
