First time I've had chance to see this game, & imo a very good workout indeed.
It's interesting reading the comments on here & then watching the game, & I can see what everyone is referring to, but for me personally, the kid who stood out was Brandon Barker. Don't get me wrong, I agree completely about Garcia, he looks like he could almost play in the first team, but Barker was played out of position, vs fully grown central defenders, & basically starved of the ball. But when he did get a touch, he rarely gave it away, didn't get greedy trying to impress, just played little one twos & played for the team, kept running & chasing etc etc.
Then they put him in his real position for a few minutes, & in that short time City, imo, looked twice as good as at any other time during the game, & if Nasri had scored after being set up, 8 yards out, facing the goal, from a typical Barker piece of skill, that would have been the main highlight of the match.
Garcia did great, but Barker was ten times more likely to actually open up the defence than just about anyone else on the pitch imo. He just didn't get enough of the ball. I was expecting to be disappointed by him, but am actually delighted. He looked well pissed off on the bench at the end though, which is understandable. Am sure he knew he could tear that fullback a new arsehole if they'd left him on.
Nasri/Yaya look like they mean business btw.
