See this is where we miss having a traditional reserves team........ EVERY time i hear Kaptain K is on the brink of return my elation quickly turns to trepidation that he will either fuck himself immediately or make rash decision on the pitch that will cost us.

If we had a reserves team, he could play two or three games where he could ease himself back where the games have no real stakes to worry about.

Can he play in EDS games to ease back in? I thought they may allow a small number of overage players?

Something the rags do regularly from what i gather, but something I've never known us to do but happy to be proved wrong......

We use EDS for the kids only. Kompany has never been in the EDS for any of his multi comebacks

Looks like they will have Paddy Macnair playing. Five million fuckin quid for that useless waste of space. Talk about corruption in football!

What team do you recon. Is sane still injured? I was hoping to see him with Gundoghan injured it feels like it will be the same side as last year?

Looks like Sane had a slight hammy and has not had any pre season games. My guess is -
Joe
Zaba otter stones Clichy
Delph Dhino
Sterling Silva Nolito
Aguero
The first team players have had little chance to try different formations so I think we will see a pragmatic approach on Saturday. Personally I would select Yaya instead of Delph and would prefer Navas to Sterling

I'm not sure why, but this is the least excited I have been about the new season that I can ever remember. I really couldn't give a flying shite what the line up is against Sunderland, other than Fernando shouldn't be in it.

Maybe I'll get enthused when we get under way.

Am the total opposite and giddy as fuck about it. We have entered a new era andnhavr one of the best managers in the World. Think he will have them playing for the shirt on their backs and with a passion we lacked last year. Bring it on!!!#

I was the same until when we signed Stones. For some reason that raised the pulse. I don't know, for me at least it is/was the fact that our season just petered out and that we've seen nothing to suggest that we've turned things around. I think the first few games are going to be bumpy tbf. I'm fine with that, every manager needs time to do their thing but I think the board will have a melt-down.

Wouldn't say we have seen nothing, OK no competitive games yet, but its clear that the new manager has changed a lot off the field, conditioning and especially training, just take a look at zabba for one example.

I'm also expecting a bumpy ride. Don't think we will see Pep's ideas coming into futation until after Christmas. I just hope we're still within reach of silverwear by then.

Yes, you're right, that's perhaps a bit exaggerated but we've seen little anyway. I just want to point out that I'm ok with that (well I'm not, but you know what I mean), just telling it like think I see it.

Look at you btw, being the more positive one. What happened? did you fall in love recently?

Agreed there have been changes and all for the better no doubt, but like others mention, we've seen very little of our new signings (previous pre-seasons we've played considerably more friendlies), sure the Euro's have had a big impact.

So far we've not seen an amazing change in Sterling or the defense issues which is what people are eluding to i guess. YaYa looked very YaYa last Sunday, the blistering attacks that Pep is lorded for were not to be seen either.

Lack of a real Marque signing like previous years (i'm not complaining in anyway), we could go on and on......... The fact we've known for absolute ages that Pep was coming, when he was officially unveiled it was like having a pair of comfortable old slippers on!

We've yet to qualify for UCL.......

I'm sure everything will be just fine, just need to get the season started now by spanking Gollums arse with a 4 or 5-0 win Saturday evening leaving us top of the table

The managerial change alone will see a renewed vigour in how we approach games, that's before any of Pep's tactical nous comes into play.

We will have a Pep in our step ( sorry )

You never know the teething problems may be sorted within the first few weeks and we could be blowing teams away after the first month just like we did when Pellegrini started.

Lol, love is a distant memory.....
Really looking forward to the season, of course there will be a learning curve and a few bumps along the way, but overall the graph is upward.

Januzaj goes to Sunderland on a season long loan. Not sure if he'll be registered in time for the match.
