What a ridiculously good player Merlin is. And now reinvigorated under Pep. He's consistently putting in 8 or 9 out of 10 performances already this season, it's just that others are exceeding him.

It's funny that only last season some on here were, justifiably, questioning whether he was running down into old age. No chance lads! And the nice thing is that we can rotate and give him a rest with the squad quality we have.

Just read this and wondered if we might be able to say something similar about Yaya in the future? I am pretty certain that he [i]could[i] be very effective in the most advanced pair of the middle 3, where Kev & Dave are now situated. I know that we are moving on now and very quickly at that, but I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him come back into the team at some point over the remainder of the season and make a success of his return - if he gets the opportunity of course!

what a squad!
