I wanted him to be given a chance in the squad last season instead of watching us continually see Stones and Otamendi make their regular mistakes.

But looking at his performances at the end of last season, and the glimpses we've had this season, he needs to significantly improve to be a regular at the top level.

If he really wants to go to Barca, then we're entitled to ask for a good fee now. If no deal can be agreed before the transfer deadline, then I'm fine for him to be 4th choice centre back for this season. He should be ok to step-in when occasionally needed. He's under contract with us now and we are free utilise him how we see fit.

After his recent displays , do we really want him ffs!

He’s looked shite since he got us knocked out of the cup against Arsenal. £10m is meaningless. Just let him rot for the season.

Yes rot indeed. Get one of those stretchy things they used to use in the dark ages, big wooden thing, a rack I think it was called. At least he will be a bit taller.

That or force him to become Mendy’s social media manager for the season. Same thing.

Will he even be fourth? I have stones down for that now. If he doesnt move tonight hes fucked. He may aswell go on loan to championship for all the time he will see with us. Runs risk of missing out on euros too. He should have signed a contract really.

If Barca want him then ask for the fee we deem suitable. If they pay up, then off he pops. If they don’t then he stays. Which is no bad thing. Laporte is unlikely to play a full season so he will get game time for us. No point letting him go for peanuts

Apparently they’re offering £10m + £5m in addons and we’ve told them to do one.

Not sure what we will do if we are stuck with him. He will
Be 5th choice and why should we ever play him ahead of harwood bellis even?

Into the u23 squad he goes for me.

Because he is probably better than HB

I get that HB is more likely to stay longer term but Garcia has a fair bit of first team experience and if he is only here for a year we need results this year

Because he needs gaming time to be fit for Barcelona.

But why should we try develop someone whos off? We have laporte ake dias and stones as four top class 50m(ish) defenders. We have HB coming through who may currently be worse than Garcia but is more valuable to us as he actually wants to be here. We will need to be very very stuck to play Garcia and even then we have fern and even rodri who can play there against most teams.

Bin him off i say.

After the Messi fiasco I’ve no sympathy for Barca and 10m isn’t anything worth helping them over. Don’t pay, don’t get the player. We need to play more hardball occasionally and get out bargaining power up.
Tracking back is overrated.

Garcia stays at City for now . Barca didn’t come up with the £20 million we were asking , Garcia says he will leave for Barca in January or next summer so the dummy has been spat out . Unhappy player at the club not good but so be it , meanwhile a lot of clubs have refused to do business with Barca this window .
Not really here
