Doubt it mate- we will be lumped in with the slime...you can bank on it.

By this time tomorrow it will be reported as our idea originally!

On that note ,City should publicly state what they believe should be implemented in this set up and what they are 100% against.

Us fans should be told what our owners believe in - its fuckign important to me and I reckon to thousands more of us fans,

I really don't like what I am reading about this. But its hardly surprising is it. I wont reminisce, but I do miss the game of football. Rather than this monstrous game of greed we have to endure now.

To be honest mate, regardless of whether this gets implemented or not, if City support it, I'm giving up football.

I cant say I blame you and its gut wrenching.....I only like the idea of sharing revenues to lower league club's but overall its bullshit.

Yes we are and WeAre1894 followed up with a correction. Also for voting 9 clubs makes perfect sense. With an odd number of clubs voting you won't run into any ties on any votes. With that being said I hope this doesn't happen.

I’m guessing it’s 9 because of the reduced number of participants to 18. Which is half

But only 6 votes needed to pass some changes. So only a third of the PL clubs need to be in agreement......that's democratic!

The whole thing is a stitch up
As Carl and a few others have posted, I want to hear the clubs stance on this. West Ham have apparently come out denouncing the proposal. Sometimes in sport or indeed in life, a proposal gets mooted that’s so wrong it’s untrue and you question the motives for it being introduced. This is one of those such proposals.

I sincerely hope we as a club have clean hands on this. Is our motto not “Pride in Battle”. Well, there isn’t a lot to be proud about with this IMO

I also question the timing of its release. Apparently it has been worked on since at least 2017. Why then wait until now to publish it? Might it have something to do with the country potentially going into lockdown today and thus being a good day to bury bad news?

All the more reason for the teams to make sure the Rags and Scouse get relegated this season.

Scouse form this year is shocking. It was only the cheating , diving, Weird refereeing ( including VAR) that got them ahead before lockdown.

since the end of January, their form has been average and they are going to implode. no fans in the stadium means Sunday afternoon , alls equal on the footy pitch, like at Hough End.

So if one of the special 9 get relegated I assume the next longest continuous member of the Premier league get to join the party in their place?

So at the end of the season United lose all this extra power they're trying to assign themselves?

Heard Rick Parry on TalkSport this morning who let slip a little when he said ‘They won’t be able to change PL ‘immediately’’ which means that they already have plans to change to suit themselves.

A few more things coming out today, one of them being that they want to change the distribution of money from 1.7 to 1, meaning that the top team gets .7 more than the lowest, to 4 to 1 meaning that the top team would get 200 million whilst the newly promoted team would get 50 mil.

Also, they want to bring in a stadium upgrade scheme which will be funded from a central pot, which can also be claimed retrospectively. This would mean that Spurs, Dippers, et al, could claim funds for their recent stadium/upgrade to the tune of millions of pounds, and the Rags could get a much needed stadium upgrade all paid for by a central pot.

It’s like printing money.

Lol, you really think the PL would allow that to happen ;-)

The stadium thing I spotted immediately and noted it very early in the thread. The swamp needs a lot of money spending on it just to bring it up to scratch. Without even increasing capacity, indeed it might even reduce as the seats there are very cramped. A lot of fans might not be able to see what is going on here, but lawyers for the other clubs surely will do and will hopefully kick this into touch

I like the idea of sharing revenue, but not in lieu of the League Cup: getting rid of it would (essentially) halve the chances of a League Two team coming up against a big Prem team. While it might be good for the clubs, it's not good for the fans.

The proposed schedule would have knocked 11 games off our schedule in some recent seasons (4 league, 6 LC, Community Shield). I'd much rather fewer international windows. I don't know what Sky would think about this (I assume they'd argue for the same/greater number of games rather than the same proportion of games, with extra PL games compensating for those lost from the LC), and the FA (losing the Community Shield and League Cup final - two cash cows to keep Wembley afloat) as well.

Pressured by who? BBC has a quote from Peter Ridsdale as PNE spokesman who broadly supports this plan but says it needs further discussion. Also, the owner of Leyton Orient in League 2 - he supports the plan as it would save them. Mind you, he lives in Boston, USA and knows the murderer's owner so another yank link there!

TBH, reading between the lines I don't think those EFL chairmen have looked any further than their own salvation.
