Is that the first line of 26 paragraphs though ?

It was the one sentence that stood out in the book he wrote on here

The Internet forum is a dying thing I feel. Twitter and Facebook is where most people are now.

I’ve been on here for years and can go a few weeks without a post now a days. There’s not enough topics being created and not enough wars to be glued to at the moment. We’ve lost some good posters too.

Reddit says otherwise.

If you are registered and active on a football forum, it indicates that you have a hardcore interest in your side and a fundamental understanding of football (there are exceptions). I wouldn't dream of discussing football on Twitter or FB as you have to do with no marks who know fuck all.

As regards to the old posters disappearing, the level of debate on this board isn't what it used to be, it's a bit of an echo chamber, there used to be a diverse mix of characters and now it seems to me to be a narrow middle-aged grump fest. It might also not help that we win most of the time and there is extraordinarily little instability. I joined during the Pearce regime when there was lots to discuss!

Many posters fucked off due to a spat with another poster......I think that's about as sad as it can get when you are so offended you fuck off from a site that you have been involved in for donkeys years.

Other posters just outgrew the internet I think...I doubt they post elsewhere...some say its due to having a kid , or too much work......thats all BS excuses...they just outgrew the site.

In 20 years I stayed away for like 2 weeks or so and that was down to losing interest due to no atmosphere / fans at games / lock down shite....but I still came back when I perked up.

I will never leave due to a spat with another cunt on here , that's for sure.

I am friends with some from here on FB, but I don't think forums are dead, to be honest, but I agree that some amazing ones are not anymore.
They are a breath of fresh air, to be honest, compared to the shit hole Facebook became.

And twitter? Except US, UK and I think Australia, twitter is not relevant.

I see discord is a thing.

Strongly agree with this. This is the main reason why I’m still on here as opposed to having serious city related conversations on social media. There are too many ill educated and ignorant fuckers on there. Whilst we may not always agree with each other on here the vast majority of people talk sense and understand the game

some of the "banter" on here went way OTT and chased off a number of 1/2 decent posters who dared stick their heads above the parapet. ted hughes, clitrevenge, phips, etc. the forum is less interesting without these characters tbh.

I get frustrated with posters on here, but I’d rather that than have a conversation on Instagram or Twitter with an “expert” from Africa or Asia that thinks Luke Shaw is the best LB in the league. Or uses the word “salty” because they can’t engage in a conversation.
