Doesn't necesserily mean anything. You can Act professional and still want out. I don't think it has anything to do with their relationship but how much he is being used. There's this weird myth that in football, unlike in any other prosessiin, you always leave with bridges burning behind.

Pep Guardiola says Gabriel Jesus has a huge part to play for City this season.

With the departure of Sergio Aguero, the Brazilian is our most experienced striker gong into the 2021/22 campaign.

Still only 24, this will be his sixth season for City, and he has so far clocked up 195 appearances and scored 82 goals for the Club during that time.

Jesus, who played in this summer’s Copa America, has also won 47 caps for his country, is expected to play some part of City’s opener at Tottenham on Sunday and his manager has every faith that he will shoulder the responsibility as well as he always has.

When asked if City will play with a recognised striker more often than not this season, Pep said: “I would say we play with recognised strikers.

Gabriel is an incredibly important player for us. He can play as a striker or wider.

“He is exceptional and he has a key role for us for many years and been a big part of the huge success we’ve had every season”

The boss also added that Club legend Sergio Aguero was always part of the team when he was fit, saying: “Sergio was injured and played a few games last season.

“Always when Sergio was fit he was an important part of the team.

“He was incredibly recognised by me. He was a proper striker and Gabriel is a proper striker.

“We try to control the game and score goals, with or without a striker. That's how we play since I arrive and we continue this way.”

If we sign Kane, I’m kind of hoping he will be used as foil for Kane in much the same way Son does. He seems to do a lot of his most productive work coming in from the left

somebody's got to pay for Harold, Laporte won't raise enough on his own if Jesus is stopping.

He doesn't have to be spectacular. Think about the piss easy chances that Sterling and Jesus miss and then put Kane in their position.

Ok. Who has in our squad the ability to get 20+ PL goals season in season out?

Whether any of us wants Kane or not, his goal output is outstanding and I would respectfully suggest he is not drop dead average. The stats tell a very different story

who cares about one or more players getting 20 goals plus ? i just want us to try and win every game we play . Kane will be claiming goals off anyone.

I agree that as a footballer, Kane is limited and isnt as skillful as most in our squad. But as a poacher and a goalscorer, which is arguably what we have been crying out for over the last couple of seasons, Kane is up there with the best in the PL.

I myself would rather not have him at the costs mooted as I think there is more value to be had elsewhere and his age and ankles are a concern. But it looks like he is our primary target and if we get him then so be it. He will slot in quite easily I'd imagine. Grealish on the other hand concerns me in there will need to be either adaptation from him or from us to fit his style

If Kane is drop dead average, I’d love to know who the above average strikers are out there?

Especially considering Kane has been one of the most prolific strikers in the world for several years now…
