not as easy as it should be. Southampton looked favourite to catch us out for pace. Got some tricky players up front

Technically yes. But I’d be fuming if that was given against us

Yeah I know what you mean. Bet the commentators would have made more of it if it was one of our players

Absolutely

Laporte is fit, Akanji should never be ahead of him

Akanji is a real liability. I cannot understand the praise.

Not good this, so far.

Laporte had made plenty of mistakes in big games. Loads of people wanted Stones out a season or two back and now he's one of our best defenders. Ake was total crap his first season and a half with us.

Lack of energy all across the pitch. The players look like they're waiting for something to happen rather than making something happen.

We are talking about the present - Akanji is a back passing average defender. Laporte is better than him and so is Walker .

Not happy with this set up, the players are good, but not the tactics

That’s not true. He signed for us on 1st September and on 6th September started and played 90 minutes against Sevilla. Then the week after played 90 minutes against Dortmund. Then 90 minutes against Wolves a few days later. He never came in as 5th choice.

Circumstances rather than intent, I believe. He was somewhat of a panic buy due to our injury situation (both Laporte and Stones out?). And Ake still hadn't come good and wasn't trusted.

Laporte hasn't played for ever so that is pure speculation if you are talking about the present.

There must be a reason Pep isn't playing him. Either he's not performing in training, or he is showing poor attitude. Or both.
