Should be 3 with an incorrect offside but honestly one of the most boring games I’ve ever watched. My kid fell asleep and I didn’t bother waking her up.
Tracking back is overrated.

When fully fit he's one of the best in the world in his position with unique skill set with that.

Why wouldn't we use this game to give him minutes? No brainer

He WAS best in the world in his position. That was 2 years ago - a fully fit Stones now doesn't even make the top 5 best defenders - hence he'll be going at the end of the season.

Last time he was fit, he was still class. Agree no brainer that he plays today

Which matches, John?

Which matches was he class in?

So we've won by 10 and 8 recently. Some don't go so well.

Have we become so grand we've forgotten the likes of Wigan (70s), Halifax, Cardiff etc etc. And countless giant killings going back to the impossibility of Colchester beating the mighty Leeds.

I think we have, or we've forgotten what football is about. If we don't win by 8 it's a major crime. If kids are so spoiled by winning today then it's very sad.

They can fuckin suffer like I did

Just got in, missed all the game, what is the consensus? Good win good football but Salford putting up a good display?

Came to not get battered. Time wasting from the very first goal kick. Keeper kicking his studs against the post etc etc.

Typical lower league low block stuff. They will be happy with the result but it made for a poor game. We played a stupidly strong side, not sure why we didn't have more kids in there TBH, especially with the u21 game getting postponed last night. Missed an opportunity to try some game time with the kids as Salford were absolutely shite.

Apart from the injury to Max, it was like an exhibition match.

Thanks for that, in the hat for next round is all that matters in cup games, job done then.

salford we're atrocious and packed their whole team behind the ball. I think they had 7% possession in the first half.

Yet they the same amount of shots on target as us. And that’s including the offside one from Marmoush

Kids won’t suffer they’ll move on to something more entertaining, they have more options than playing with a stick in the 70s

Match thread has 4 pages, compared with 12 and 16 pages for the last two games. Says it all about how shite the game was

it’s also about entertaining and if you think this shite is going to please fans forking out plenty to watch this then your in a minority.

Nothing to do withit. Football is about winning. I don't remember trying to please the old boys on the touchline when I played. We played to win.

If you didn't, you are in the minority

If you play football, the aim is to win, if you are a fan, you want your team to win. Neutrals want to be entertained. If you are paying out signicant amounts to watch your team, you want to see s win but you want to be entertained. I'd take a great game and a narrow victory agsinst a 3 or 4 nil boring game.
We should have be able to score more goals against Sslford. We had enough talent on the pitch to do better than we did

Just back from the match and the only word I can use to describe it is insipid. Cherki was absolute gash and whoever said Foden and Lewis should not be in the same starting eleven was bang on.
The midfield was less than inspiring to say the least and the only plus point was Guehi scoring his first goal for us.

But we won so you should not complain at the shite football being produced.

Sarcasm aside - surely the fucking players can play better than that for fucks sake !!! We had barely a fucking shot on goal for most of the match.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"
