The only thing he is to blame for is that we are one week away from starting the season, and he didn't put pressure on the board to get the players he needed and accepted to have this squad at his disposal.

The squad is absolutely fine.

It's a pre season friendly.

Maybe keep your powder dry until next weekend.

Yeah thats the one. "It's only a friendly" the fans that have paid to go probably think differently

We’re so far away in terms of pre-season games. They’re a yard in front of anything we do and hopefully the next few weeks won’t find us out.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

For me it's less about who is sharp and who isn't- the manager is starting Dias, he's got Khus at RB, he's starting Kova, he's moved Semenyo from the left where he's been class pre season to the right. Not good signs

We lost 3-1 to Liverpool and then went on to win the treble. There's still hope, as long as Maresca can see what's in front of him with Dias and Kova

Anyone who went would have known before buying their tickets that it wasn't going to be treated like a cup final. It's the same every single year.

It's his first competitive game against a prem team as manager/coach, perhaps he was using this to sus out if certain players could cut it, hopefully he sees what we see in those two..... and Rico, who as much as I love an academy success story, I don't think he's one of them.

I know this game was only a glorified friendly and means fuck all in the bigger scheme of things.

Got to say though that was a shockingly bad horrible performance.

Still seeing shite players like Kovacic/Grealish/Rico Lewis still pulling on City shirts is depressing. Foden still looking like Foden of the last 2 years.

defensively we were all over the place trying to defend on the 18 yard line.

Everything was so bad it was untrue.

No idea what Maresca was trying to do. It was like he was trying to do the Pep walking Football thing but really badly. Even opting to put Semenyo back on the opposite wing.

Fist shot on goal in the second half was 73 minutes.

Too early to judge Masresca obviously. Not a great start.

I thought last season we would struggle to make top 4,we finished 2nd and narrowly missed winning the League.

This season though i feel our luck is about to run out. Terrible activity in the transfer market since our treble win means we need possibly 5,6 decent additions. It is going to take 2,3, transfer Windows to become an elite side again. We should set our sights accordingly. Top 4 is not going to be easy when we look more like a top 8 side.

Going to take time clearing the dead wood out when we have so much of it. Kovacic played like he was a 64 year old on 60 Fags a day.

We need a good start in the League to get this out of the system as a one off.
