09:00 AM ET 08.06 | Ajax's star youngster Christian Eriksen has turned down a move to Manchester City, according to his agent. Roberto Mancini has stated that he is in the market for new attacking players and it would appear he made an approach for the Danish playmaker.
Manchester City insist they have not tabled an offer for highly-rated Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen.
The 19-year-old Denmark international has been linked with a host of top European clubs after emerging as one of the most exciting young players in world football.
Eriksen's representative, Martin Schoot, was quoted as saying earlier this week that City had made a 'concrete proposal' but his client turned down the opportunity.
While Roberto Mancini has confirmed he is interested in adding to the four summer signings he has already made, City have denied lodging a bid.
A club spokesman said: "Manchester City strongly refute any suggestion that an offer has been made either to the player or his agent."
City have also rejected suggestions, originating in Italy on Saturday morning, that they have agreed to sign Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan.

"Of course he would like to play in England, it's the biggest league in the world," Van der Vaart told Sky Sports News.
"He is a good friend of mine and we have contact almost every day. He knows what to expect in the Premier League."
On the prospect of him lining up in United colours, he jokingly added: "I hope not because Man U are going to be stronger.
"But he's a great player and he fits in well at Man U."
