Manchester City re-open talks with Fiorentina over winger

By talkSPORT
Wednesday, August 10
0 comments
Manchester City have re-opened negotiations with Fiorentina over the £5m signing of Alessio Cerci.
The winger, 24, has been strongly linked with Roberto Mancini's side and a deal looked set to go through earlier in the summer, but the move never materialised.
But reports in Italy are now suggesting that talks between the two clubs have started once again and City are set to increase their offer as they look to finalise his signature.
Cerci is rated one of the best wingers in Serie A and Mancini is hoping he can add even more competition to his midfield as they look to have a successful season in both the Premier League and Champions League.
The Italian is hoping to land a four-year deal and will double his wages if he make a move to the Etihad Stadium.
A Fiorentina source said: "We are optimistic and hope a deal can be agreed in the next week."

Apparently Eto'o is heading to Russia.....
Samuel Eto'o's agent claims the striker is close to a shock transfer from Internazionale to Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Russian club have offered in the region of 30 million euros for the Cameroon international and are reported to be ready to pay Eto'o an eye-watering 17m per season.
Though it was initially thought that a player who scored 34 goals in all competitions last season for Inter, and won the trble in 2010, would shun a move to Russia, the move is looking increasingly likely.
Eto'o's agent, Claudio Vigorelli, says the striker is close to coming to a deal with the Russian side.
"We have practically reached an agreement with Anzhi," Vigorelli told Sports.ru. "Hopefully, the clubs will now also agree between themselves.
"Unfortunately, the media have been reporting false figures in relation to Samuel’s contract.
"But I will repeat, we have practically agreed things with Anzhi."
Inter president Massimo Moratti has hinted that Inter are prepared to accept the offer on the table from Anzhi.
"The offer can be described as interesting, intelligent and reasonable to the value of the player," Moratti told the club's official website.
"It is not up to me to judge whether it is indecent or not, but I can say that it is intelligent and values our player. Over the next few days we will assess it along with Eto'o and our directors."

Also,
The 18-time Italian champion has expressed interest in Argentina striker Carlos Tevez, who’s publicly stated his desire to leave Manchester City. Midfielder Wesley Sneijder is reportedly a target for Manchester United.
Paolillo said there was “no chance for Tevez” and Sneijder would be staying.

Sky Sports,
Tottenham are preparing a £35million move for Porto striker Hulk, according to the Daily Mail this morning.

No chance.

Funny..I didnt even know they were supposedly in for him,
Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis does not want to sign controversial Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

The Italy international has been hitting the headlines throughout the summer and City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted the antics have made him feel like he needs a psychiatrist.

Former Inter Milan striker Balotelli has also voiced his disappointment at life in Manchester, which has fuelled suggestions he is homesick.

City, though, have never publicly shown they want to sell the 20-year-old, and Napoli would not be interested regardless of the Premier League club's stance or the possible exit of Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Asked if Napoli wanted to sign Balotelli, De Laurentiis told Sky Sport Italia: "Absolutely not.

"He is funny, but it is too disruptive and I prefer that he applies his talents elsewhere."

Dunno how legit this is but it's really cool of Fab to do this (on ESPN),
AS and Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague says Cesc Fabregas will be a Barcelona player by this weekend.

"FCB will pay 40m euros (29 fixed, 6 variable and 5 from cesc). Only little details to confirm but been told done by weekend...the 5m euros from Cesc is 1m euros a year during 5 years that he will reduce from his planned wages. that money will be paid to Arsenal."
It seems Cesc is willing to take a big wage cut to re-join his boyhood club, he will essentially be paying his own money to Arsenal in order to make a move!

Lots of supposed transfer bollox on fox sports and espn today...

Adebayor on loan to spurs with City paying 100,000 pounds (out of 160,000) of his wages.
Adebayor to spurs on loan in exchange for Aaron Lennon
Aaron Lennon as replacement for SWP.
Tevez to Inter for Sniejder...again.
Nasri to City.
Nasri not to city.
Tevez staying to december at least.
Newcastle wants Bridge and/or Bellamy
Mancini wants Neymar.
Mancini wants Rafael Toloi (fullback from a brazilian club).

Some of it is the same old stuff and some of it is new, intriguing stuff.

The only way I'd do it was if they HAD to buy him at the end of the loan for a fixed fee, ala Ibra to Milan.

Otherwise.. jog on spuds.
