If this goes through presumably the snakes have to sign him in July & therefore he will be asking for the remainder of his contract to be paid up, at which point City go 'no'.

Doesn't look like he's going to AC.

Carlos Tevez's transfer to AC Milan dramatically collapsed on Thursday, after striker Alexandre Pato revealed he wants to stay in Italy.

Tevez's switch to the European giants hinged on Brazilian Pato moving away in January, with Paris St Germain a likely destination.

'Milan is my home,' explained Pato. 'I don't want to interrupt my career with the black and reds after winning my first two trophies with this shirt.'

The striker helped Milan win Serie A last season and the Italian Supercup in August, and said he wants to continue thriving with the Rossoneri.

'I want to contribute to writing Milan's history and to the future success of this club with happiness and in perfect harmony with the environment.

'Today is a special day for me.

'I thank club president (Silvio) Berlusconi, the club and the supporters who have always believed in me.'

Now AC Milan seem unlikely to purchase the striker and talks with Manchester City have broken down, despite Tevez agreeing personal terms with the club.

The want-away forward was close to joining AC, with Inter club president Massimo Moratti admitting his side had lost out in the race to sign the player.

When asked if Tevez would join AC Milan, Moratti said: 'I believe so,' adding 'That's football.'

But now with Pato's announcement, the striker's next destination is anyone's guess.

Tevez, who returned to his homeland in November without City's permission and is yet to report back to training, is under contract until June 2014.

In perfect harmony with the environment? Is he a football player or a hippy?

Once we finally get the steak-sniffer off the books maybe we will find out - things are quiet right now though.

The future of Carlos Tevez has been thrown into more confusion after talks between Milan and Manchester City officials broke up without reaching agreement just hours after Internazionale withdrew from the race to sign the South American.

Tevez is still in Argentina, having effectively concluded he has no future at City since the furore over his non-appearance during a Champions League game against Bayern Munich in September.

Inter and Paris St-Germain had both expressed an interest in signing Tevez but Milan had been frontrunners for a considerable time. It seemed a matter of when rather than if a deal would be done, although hopes of a speedy resolution were dashed when City refused to yield from their position of being unwilling to entertain any kind of loan for the 27-year-old.

However, with further negotiations planned for Thursday afternoon in London, when asked if Tevez will join Milan, the Inter president Massimo Moratti said on the club's official website, http://www.inter.it: "I believe so. That's football."

But within hours, the London talks had ended amid reports that a deal between Milan and City was off. As City officials have strongly countered, it was impossible for a deal to be off because there was never one in place to start with. Indeed, City have been left bewildered by the whole process which, as far as they can see, is fairly straightforward.

With no loan moves being entertained, a stance unlikely to change at present, the club will happily talk to any suitor willing to offer what they view as a fair market value for one of the world's best forwards. Evidently, Tevez's present status has not done much for his valuation. However, as he is tied to a contract that does not expire until 2014, City believe they have plenty of power, even if efforts to get Tevez back to Manchester will not be increased until the transfer window has closed.

Despite the latest developments, it would be a major surprise if Tevez was still a City player by February. As City found out during their failed attempts to sign the Brazilian Kaká from Milan three years ago, the Italian club's vice-president Adriano Galliani is an astute footballing politician. Having placed such store by trying to attract Tevez to the club, Galliani is unlikely to just give up when there is so much time left to do a deal.

if yr Mancini yr not glad tho. he needs the transaction to complete to get some funds to buy someone i think. I believe, perhaps incorrectly, that Tevez is standing between us and DeRossi. Just fucking swap them and ask them to throw in a curly wurly as makeweight along with some girls, fireworks and darts for Mario. Done deal.

cheers

Don't get that at all.

I think Bobby would like him off the books asap. Nothing is more important to Bobby than winning.

If we are still paying him I would feel like hanging up my football scarf until we:

1) stopped paying him
2) sold him

There is no football while cunts like Tevez can do whatever they want.

I would say Inter could step in but the waters would be just as murky. If pato wants to stay in his commune at AC why dont PSG take milans sloppy seconds and bag Tevez? hey I'm full of solutions tonight. paris is great...theyd love an ignorant cunt like tevez

thing is if Mancini wants to bring someone in Tevez, you would think, needs to go, permanently. Inter might still come in for him
