Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has quashed speculation linking Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik with a move to Eastlands.

Reports in Italy claimed City were keen to acquire the Slovakia international, who has also been a reported target of Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Mancini said today he is not interested in the 22-year-old.

"Hamsik is not part of Manchester City's plans," Mancini said.

Hamsik scored 12 goals in 37 league appearances for Napoli last season. He joined Napoli in the summer of 2007 and is under contract until June 2012.

My sources tell me that we will definately sign a player, probably two and maybe a third - one of which will be a striker ... or a full-back come midfield general anchorman style wide player, who will be from another Premier League Team ... or an Italian or German one. But he will definately be under 30 ... probably.

A clue is Oasis first album - "Definately Maybe" - but I cant say anymore as I've said too much already and dont want to get the club, an agent, my mate, the press hack etc etc into trouble for revealing a trade secret and top itk information.
