A clue is Oasis first album - "Definately Maybe" - but I cant say anymore as I've said too much already and dont want to get the club, an agent, my mate, the press hack etc etc into trouble for revealing a trade secret and top itk information.

Cheers for the info mate.I have to say this sounds promising, is your source reliable?

I was , of course only joking... However it is quite observant of you ! It's hot tonight here, about 25° still and yes I am enjoying my second glass of Antinori red.

However, Neil Diamond did, imo, have a few years where 'money' seemed to talk rather than good music, hence 'Beautiful Noise' ( what was that ? ).

Taproot manuscript would be quite good for the World cup though..... well worth a revisit.

btw, has anybody signed for us today ?

Manchester City preparing to launch huge bid for Argentinian

Manchester City are preparing to table a huge offer for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero according to reports in Spain. Roberto Mancini is keen to make bring Aguero to Eastlands this summer and will if they have to pay the €60 Million it will take to buy the players contract out.

City do face competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid, however the Atletico board have made it clear they will not even listen to an offer from Real Madrid, no matter the amount they offer and that then appears to leave it as a straight head to head fight between Roman Abramovich’s billions and the Oil money of the City owners.

The reason that City are now seen as hot favourites to land Aguero is that Chelsea have refused to pay the €60 Million that would be required to land the 21 year old, while Mancini’s City will.

Man City were always going to buy big this summer, it was just a question of which player it would end up being with the likes of Pato, Gerrard, Torres and Kaka all mentioned, but now it seems that it is Sergio Aguero they want and they are prepared whatever they must to secure his signature.

This coincides with what Aguero’s agent has been saying when he said that if anyone wants his client they will have to pay the buy out clause fee, he did also say that he still believes that Aguero will be an Atletico Madrid player next season, but then he never counted on Man City’s money and determination.

The latest story is that Atletico are going to offer a mega deal to keep Aguero. The price they want for him means that there's no way on this earth that Inter, Chelsea or City - in the remote chance that they want him - will pay it. On the other hand Atletico are terrified that he may leave in one year's time when his contract expires.

So if he is to be sold the price will certainly have to be a lot lower, there's a lot of his agent talking in all these reports, trying to get the best new contract.

I dont believe Mancini will want another tiny Argie up front.

I have a theory, I know England opened the transfer window early because of the World Cup, but has Italy, Spain and Germany? If they haven't then our lack of activity so far could be because Bobby has our signings coming from the continent instead of the domestic front.

Midfielder Nigel de Jong has urged Manchester City to sign his Holland international colleague Gregory van der Wiel.

Van der Wiel, a £10million-rated Ajax right-back who has just been named Holland's Young Player of the Year, is already on City boss Roberto Mancini's radar.

And De Jong, who is also a former Ajax player, insists the 22-year-old could play a crucial role at the club next season.

"I know that Greg is on our wanted list at Manchester City," De Jong told the Daily Star.

"I have pleaded with them to sign him, as we could use a good right-back.

"The tempo of English football will make him stronger still and I've recommended him to City's management."

Im sure Richards and Zabba are happy with these comments.......

Indeed Zabba is good for backup but I can't be doing with another season of him giving away silly free kicks outside the box all season. Not to mention a yellow card nearly every game he plays.

Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne has warned James Milner that his chances may be limited if he heads to Manchester City.

Dunne is well aware of the competition for places at Eastlands after being told he was surplus to requirements by City last summer.

Now the world's wealthiest club have their sights set on his highly-rated Villa team-mate, who is valued at over £20million.

While Milner may carry a hefty price tag to the average club, Dunne insists the England midfielder will seem like a bargain to the Blues.

"Manchester City is a really big club now, but I suppose the problem they will have is they will have a lot of top players - £20million is nothing to them," said the 30-year-old.

"It's just another player really, so it's whether you are going to get enough game time.

"But I am sure with James, he is a very, very sensible fella and very clever, so he will make his own decision."

Milner was an integral part of Villa's fruitless but heroic campaign for a top-four finish last season and the club are keen to keep him for the next.

However, it's those impressive performances which have attracted the interest of Villa's rivals and Dunne knows that a big-money offer could eventually tear him from Martin O'Neill's side.

"That's the big thing. We want to progress as a club, but there are always bigger clubs, I suppose, with more money who can offer him maybe Champions League football, so it will be difficult," said Dunne.

"But if things don't work out and James does have to leave, the manager has been really good in the transfer market and will spend his money well.

"We have already got the likes of Fabian Delph there, who is going to become a really good player.

"As much as we want to keep James, we know he is a much sought-after player and it might prove difficult."

Dunno if it been posted this thread getting too big now... I really agree with the idea of a side forum for all these so they don't get lost.. Either way Dunne should keep his nose out he chose to leave (he didn't have to sign a contract with another club) and knows how great it is here.. Cunt...

no signings

one bid for James Milner (GBP 20 million: rejected, per the press)
one alleged "done deal" for Jerome Boateng but no official word from either club

no sales officially discussed or agreed
no transfer requests have officially been acknowledged as having been put in

no concrete links with a striker, nor a creative midfielder
