Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are leading the chase for Shaun Wright-Phillips, with a deal having been agreed.
The winger has slipped down the pecking order at Manchester City and is looking to find regular football away from Eastlands.
Unsurprisingly, a number of clubs have shown an interest in the England international.
Sky Sports sources reported on Friday that the race for his signature was hotting up, with QPR and Stoke having tabled bids.
It is now believed that Neil Warnock's side have edged in front of the Potters, with productive transfer talks having been held.
It is understood that an agreement has been reached, with Wright-Phillips prepared to link up with the Premier League new boys.
Should he sign, he will be reunited with former City team-mate Joey Barton at Loftus Road, with the midfielder having penned a four-year contract with QPR on Friday.

Weiss is not the only City player on his way out of the club on loan, with highly-rated goalkeeper Karius to join Mainz in Germany until December.
The 18-year-old is under contract with City until next summer but has yet to make the breakthrough into the first team and will now have a chance to press for more regular action in the Bundesliga.
"Loris Karius is one of the most talented goalkeepers of Germany," Mainz general manager Christian Heidel told his club's official website.
"We have been monitoring him for a while and when we met he left a very good impression on us.
"We have put up a loan arrangement with Manchester City in the meantime and I feel this loan is a win-win situation for us as a club as well as for the player."

Skysports.com understands a host of clubs are ready to test Manchester City's resolve to keep Adam Johnson past this Wednesday's transfer deadline.
With Samir Nasri's move confirmed last week, Johnson could well be pushed down the pecking order - despite the fact Roberto Mancini is a confirmed admirer of the England winger.
Johnson himself has insisted that he is happy at the Etihad Stadium, but he knows his international chances could be hampered by a lack of first-team football.
Now a battle to try and land Johnson is set to ensue, with top clubs from England, Italy and Spain all ready to try and convince City to sell.
City will now ponder their position over the coming days, but Johnson's desire for regular football could see them allow him to leave just over 18 months after he joined from Middlesbrough.
