yes the new chelsea striker.
Mark van Bommel has claimed that Manchester City have failed with a fresh bid for his services.
The 34-year-old joined AC Milan in January from Bayern Munich on a short-term deal, and that was renewed by another year this summer.
But Van Bommel has now revealed that City, who wanted him in January, have made a new bid for his services.
"Manchester City first tried to sign me last winter, they were one of the clubs interested in me, so their interest has not come out of the blue," he told Voetbal International.
"But Milan has a very clear position and I am perfectly happy to live with that, my family feels at home here.
"I feel good as a footballer here and feel fully appreciated."
Van Bommel's agent Mino Raiola confirmed that, because of Yaya Toure's likely involvement in the African Cup of Nations later this season, City wanted high-class cover.
"The message of AC Milan was clear. Mark van Bommel is not for sale under any circumstances," Raiola confirmed
"They have the problem that Yaya Toure will spend considerable time out because of the matches for the African Cup.
"In addition, they also know that Mark van Bommel is excellent alongside Nigel de Jong. Hence they came in again for him."

i've no idea why Stoke even tried as it is against the Prem rules.
A player cant be loaned to another club in the prem during the same transfer window as he arrived
to the prem in.

I think only if he played a game for the team he signed for.
Manchester City youngster Ryan McGivern has joined Bristol City on loan after seeing a deal at Crystal Palace come to an end.
The defender has spent the last month at Selhurst Park, with his route to the first team firmly blocked at Eastlands.
The Eagles were keen to extend his stay, with Dougie Freedman impressed by the Northern Ireland U21 international.
They have, however, been left disappointed, as McGivern is set to try his luck elsewhere.

Arsenal need to buy world class players soon or they will find themselves struggling for Europe League spots.

Aye, on BBC.
KrisCorssen on Twitter: "Apparently James Milner has been allowed to leave the England squad, and has been spotted en route to Melwood training ground, possible?"
I'll be a tad hacked off if this is true.

I'd be very disappointed too mate. Think he was excellent against Bolton
