You are correct, the world doesn't work like that.
However, he suffered several injuries at Southampton and then again at Chelsea.
It might just be he is prone to injuries at this stage of his career.

Wonder who we will sign this summer? My hope is still Guimaraes (or at least Kimmich/Ruiz) to provide cover for Rodri and of course replacements for Eddy/Alvarez should either or both exit.

Yeah would've been a massive asset watching us from the stands last season.
He would have got injured if he’d stayed with us? Didn’t know the world worked like that.
Still spent most of his time on the bench though Mase, if he stayed

If Rodri needs a rest we’re asking for someone to step in and help though. Completely agree that Pep hates kids unless they’re from Barca and named Garcia.

Could Rico have played more last season instead of spending £53m on Nunes? Absolutely. Bobb scored the winner against Newcastle, had a goal in the next game ruled out for no reason. Then we never saw him until this summer.
Garcia was playing semi finals at Wembley ffs
Everyone can see he treats players differently that are Spanish. If you can’t you need to get Pep’s ball sack from out of your mouth

These Garcia minutes are a myth Mase. He played 13 times in the PL in the19/20 season mainly when it was resumed after covid. He played 6 league games the following year.
Rico has played 30 PL games over the last 2 seasons- I'd have liked it to be more last season. Bobb i'm with you 100%

Ahh I was sure Garcia was stalling on a contract so Pep started playing him, including a start in an important semi against Arsenal at Wembley where he was absolutely shocking.

Arsenal have signed Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee of up to £42m including add-ons.
Has there ever been a decent Italian defender in the Prem?

None that I can recall.
I didn't realise that the only Italian to have a Prem league title to their name is Balotelli...

I can’t recall any decent Italians in the Prem apart from Balo. Di Canio? They’re not really suited to the fast pace.

Zola, Di Matteo and Vialli, no defensive or GK of note, all creative or finishers.

Zola and Di Matteo great shouts. Vialli was terrible - highest tally was 11 goals in a season, he got 9 the season before.
I did love that Chelsea team though. Not sure if it was the catchy “We’re gonna make it a blue day!” FA Cup final song they realised.

Pep said Alvarez can go if he wants.
Whoever is advising Alvarez needs their head checking!
