One player that always springs to mind is a certain centre half who I will never forgive when we went two up against the rags and were cruising at Maine Road. 1993 I think it was. Quinn got the two goals and we led by 2 at ht. Up pops Michel Vonk at the start of the 2nd half and heads the ball from just inside our half back towards our goalkeeper. Who spots it only Cantona and puts them back in the game. From there they went on to win 3-2 with Keane getting the winner. I will never forget it.

Ladies & gentlemen, I give you; multi title, triple European cup, FA cup winning England international striker David Johnson.

Rag legend 'not so fucking super' Sammy Mcilroy.

The world class defensive talents of Darren 'you must be fucking joking' Wassell.

Trevor 'why the fuck did we sign him?' Christie & to finish, 2 of the weirdest signings ever even by City standards; Bobby 'crikey' Shinton & Robert 'where the fuck's he gone' Hopkins. Wtf was that all about?

I have supported City for far too many years than I care to remember.
Reading the litany of names on here only serves to remind me the I have wasted a massive chunk of my life.

How the fucl did I ever go into work and even attempt to defend some of that lot as footballers????
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I know. For many years I used to try & argue when rags said 'why do you keep signing these obscure shite players?' but I've long since given up & just laugh now when they point out a new one.

Andy Hill.

To think back then I had a season ticket at Bury and thought he was shit there too

Oh, and Adie Mike - he was another who darkened Bury's door, worst player I have ever seen without any shadow of a doubt

Yep, probably, however - I cannot believe we had managers stupid enough to pick him for the 16 games he played for us, OR that someone has gone to the effort of writing a wiki page, OR that his middle name is Roosevelt.

It should have been 'Roger' but the vicar sneezed as he was being christened.

I remember all of those, except Johnson, although now you mention it, it's all coming back!

Christie and Hopkins were Jimmy frizzel signings when we had f*ck all money. Hopkins, i remember, signed from a west mids club (brum?) then resigned for another west mids club (west brom?) about three weeks later citing homesickness!

Michael Robinson, signed from PNE for around £1m by Malcolm Allison. At Preston, everyone called him 'Mick', but there was a big article in the LEP after he signed for us where he said his name is 'Michael, not Mick - Mick sounds like a dog food'. You couldn't make it up!

Kaz Deyna - first Eastern Bloc player in our league. Grandstand had live cameras at Maine Rd as the teams ran out.
