Come again???? what is that meant to mean?

Thought he showed glimpses of potential last night and think he will be a great asset to the team. The yellow was justified the chap just needs to learn to settle and accept a bit. Hope the injury is something and nothing.

I was trying to be a bit cynical I suppose. To me people seem to forget that there is examples of racism in UK(a lot of Europe IMO).Here where I am in Spain we get BBC Look North which covers the Yorkshire region and this weekend I think the police have stopped a march from the EDL(English defence League)because they think it may lead to some conflict.Although I would say that the vast majority of English people find racism abhorent, but there are still pockets of it.So when people say Mario isn't going to suffer the kind of abuse he did in Italy,I'm not so sure myself.I'd be suprised if it happens at COMs but not when we are away. There are still a few idiots eveywhere.

No way nowadays mate. You can mug old grannies for fun, pee in the street and have a good old punch-up. But one racist word and the whole PC establishment comes crashing around you and gets you in court quicker than you can say Justin Fashanu.

I dont think Mario will have a problem in the stadia.

I was at Birmingham away when Jobson scored the winner about 9/10 years ago. 3 guys near me started singing "You're just a town full of pakis", they were immediately caught and thrown out by the police. You can't even whisper a racist comment these days and expect to get away with it in ANY English ground. In Scotland though, I believe racism is alive and well.

Don't know how long it has been since you have watched football over here Rag Hater, but I haven't heard monkey noises or anything remotely racist towards players at any game I have been to since the mid/late 80s.

if you saw that article, presumably you saw the interview with the founder of the EDL? You may or may not recognise regional accents but his was southern (West Yorkshire, I can asure you, is not in the South)

You'll find particularly West Yorkshire to be one of the most intigrated areas in the country outside London, one of the few benefits of our 'dark satanic mills' heritage - I should know since I've lived there all my life.

Where abouts you from Dameerto???

Was born in Huddersfield mate.

You're probably right in most of what you say and in the UK fans have come further than some in Europe. However the incident you mention of a few years ago raises the issue with me that if these guys were either not bothered about the consequences of their actions or had been for a few pints and got a bit loose lipped or they were just to stupid or something else, the fact that there are fans who think like that, who may be in a tiny minority, still exist..And I wouldn't be suprised if there are still fans like that ,although it has got more difficult for them to enact their stupidity they are still there. In a crowd of 45000 it wouldn't suprise me if 40 or 50 idiots who will play on Mario's temperament to make a point.
