Bit of false optimism in this thread. It's OK other teams being shit but we need to stop being shit too.

Drogba shooting from 35 yards gives me the willies, where is this guy's limit?

Balotelli will score from that distance for us if he sorts his brain out.

Well why not. We have been playing like utter dross and we're in 4th at the start of play today, not a stone's throw from the lead. FOURTH!!! Any other season and at the very least the top two would be well out of sight right now but they aren't and that tells me that no-one has put their hand up yet and said "we're the champions". Now if we are playing badly, really fucking badly and still in the race and in the top 4, then what happens when we play well and put a run together. It's there for the taking, we just got to be brave enough to take it.

A good win for Fulltime there!!

As for the Mancini comment about chelsea winning the league, it is all mind games, that was said in the week leading upto the chelsea game. Lets see if Redknapp will achieve anything by sending his team out to either win 5-0 or lose 5-0. Allthough they are good to watch on the odd day.

2 things mate. Mancio has said it on a number of occassions afterwards aswell. And with regard to Spurs, they're not doing too bad are they?

He's in the Champ's lg about to qualify from the group having just hammered the champions & is level with us on points. Or does 4th suddenly not mean anything now?

So they should qualify from a group with Werder Bremen and FC Twente as the other two teams. They were hammered themselves by the champions aswell. Lets see how many cups they win or if they are still in the title race come March. You only have to look at Arsenal to see that pretty football only gets you so far. It takes time to get successfull attacking football right. It's took Chelsea a good 5 years to get it right.

Don't you think that is to take the pressure off the side rather than being defeatist? Ian Holloway has said that he has the worst team ever in the premier league but he's not being defeatist, it's all mind games. Spurs are doing ok, ask there fans though, for every Arsenal 3-2 and Inter 3-1 there are Wigans at home 0-1 where they were awful.

Agree completely. My doubts come not from thinking that we can't do it, just that we won't. This week, well 2 weeks, is crucial imo. Get it right & we're right in the title race & Europa , get it wrong & Bob is on his bike after the Bolton game (even if he doesn't find out for 2 more weeks after that).

I agree, I do think he says it for that purpose, but that wasn't your point though.

My point was things said in the press and the dressing rooms are completely different, just because he says that Chelsea will win the league in the press doesn't mean he tells his players they are playing for 2nd.

Sounds like Wigan have had some great chances and put United on the back foot. Shame they couldn't convert, United could go level top on points tonight.
