The scum are on a rise in form but i dont think with there squad they can maintain it.

Arsenal have always been a good team but never quite good enough. But this year they are still a good team and alot of the established teams in the prem are playing worse so its not a question of have they improved enough but has everyone else took a step back leaving them with a better chance but they will probably lose form for 6 weeks somewhere like they usually do.

The mighty blues have 1 goalscorer and i dont think its enough to win the league. Wish it was but its not. Unless balotelli steps up and starts fighting on his feet rather then going down hoping for a free kick that we wont convert then we dont have a chance but 3rd is possible.

Agreed. Title winning sides need to have four or five match winners, not one.

Carlos, Mario, David, AJ, the 2 attacking FBs, MJ and Dzeko to come...
That's also why I amtalking about next year for the finished product... still a work in progress.

Gotta agree with Vhero here, we have match winners all over the pitch.

Although I don't want Dzeko...yes yes I know he is an excellent striker but I think we would have to revamp the whole attack to accommodate him and it's just started to work.

I'd also like to know what crack he's smoking to think MJ has the ability to add any input whatsoever to a title challenge.

we've played all the other contenders at home already so no we can't win the league. we'll play for 0-0 at OT and Emirates and Mancio seems to know how to beat chelsea but another win at the bridge is still highly unlikely.

MJ!!!!! What a dick. Is this one of them "no one could score 7" jokes?. People keep mentioning him like he is a real person and stuff.

Even with those players tevez is our only consistent match winner. The rest can have a big impact on a game but tevez doesnt just have the ability to make the impact but he has the desire to do it every game and the rest will dissapear for games between now and the end of the season.

Overall we have been pretty poor i would say so far this season. Looking back on some games it is almost as though we really lacked confidence as a unit.. holding back etc. So if you take that view and have the idea that we will continue to improve then tbh we will take some beating by the other contenders. I would think like most that Arsenal, rags and Chelsea are no better and no more consistent than they have been in recent seasons, less so probably judging it so far. We dont know yet if this City side will be consistent or not, but even not playing very well we have just about held on. I would have said that all 3 of the others will both get themselves together and lose it again before the season is over.
The more City get a mojo on before we go and play the return games away from home, the more chance we have of taking points off all of them.
As pointed out and as Bob keeps saying this months games up to Arsenal will show us what the mentality of this team is.. tough games that we have to get results out of.

Just starting to think, somethings changed. As I look at the league table and see us sat 3 points (plus gd) from the top spot, without playing that great this season and looking at our players and talent.. which are just about to 'click'. We can actually do this.. its such an amazing position to be in.

What I'd like to see is us in and around the top going into the last 6, then dick Spurs and go on a winnable run to the last game, smashing through the tape down the road at Bolton. The last game's not that close for no reason; hell, we can get the open-top back from there ;-)

For those who think we can't simply because we never have, or the "Typical City" syndrome, or "Cups for Cock Ups", These factors have affected all clubs throughout the history of football. We just seem to have made a big deal of it because it has fed our malignant sense of humour. The rags losing the title to Blackburn because they couldn't score on the last day has been largely forgotten by them. It would have been a famous part of our folklore.
The "GREAT UNPREDICTABLES" as City were always known, worked as much in our favour as it did against. It still affects us today to some extent but it means that though we can drop silly points, we can also beat the best. As much positive as negative.

We are currently sat 3pts off the top spot, we haven't played consistantly great but it hasn't significantly hurt our challenge. Remember that we are still work in progress, we are still learning and still improving. What we have seen in the past isn't necessarily what we will see in the future. Ballo and Silva will improve and we are already seeing glimpses of some fabulous football being played. Adam Johnson will gradually mature and play a bigger role and we still have the january window to strengthen.
I think Mancini's negativity had more to do with the tools he considered he had to work with at the time. I think we are starting to see a different modus operandi and I think we'll improve dramatically over the latter part of the season.

We are as good as Arsenal, Chelsea and the rags. We are on the way up whilst the otheres with more established sides are alreadyat their peak. Will we win the league? We have as goos, if not better, shout than our rivals. Can we win the league...YES, WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I think the opportunity to be taken is the next few games - up to year end. We need (the club and fans) to shake of the 'typical CITY thinking - I think that this would happen if we were sat at the top - I think that we then have players that would not bottle it.

The games for us are almost unbelievably straight-forward when compared to the other 4 main contenders - if we could hit Jan 1 on top, well...... - if we do not then I think we will look back to see that this is when we will have bottled it - not the last few games

Again and again here is why this MAN is so special to all of us and that's why the board should consider a sort of "Pulitzer Status", above the Legends, to be awarded to HIM. If actually there is a Shakespeare of us, that is definitely our JOHN68.
again and again...
