Ha ha, that has to be the most generous offer so far!

Just doing my bit. I've also updated my signature to act as a reminder to click happy people. I think that in these times of adversity it's important we all pull together.

HAHA

You are mad arse! I've been laughing at that signature all morning.

Can I just ask again, how big is the website and what's the average monthly bandwidth we use?

I just printed tons of them with office laser printer. Going to local strip house and going to make it rain there.

Sorry mate.

In terms of bandwidth, in previous Januaries we have used about 75GB, so far this month we have used 118GB! I have been in touch with our hosts and they can see no unusual activity on our account and have put it down to the site just being busy.

In terms of disc space, we get 2GB per month and are currently at 3.5GB! We have a few ideas on how to reduce this without affecting the site too much though.

KK Surely the problem is that more people and guests are far more interested in City these days.

Gone are the days of Doomeh being sat online on his own sat their scratching his ass waiting for a reply, natural progression.Which brings me back to what Bluemoon did, when this happened to that site unfortunately they had to get ads,but my feeling was that it was taken purely as a business decision.
Maybe a business decision will be needed at some point for this fine site.

MY TWO PENNETH AND ONLY IMHO.

I like the little mancityfans.net symbol next to the suer names of those who have donated in the member's section! Makes me feel special.

Edit: DOH! I know see that we got a whole new status. That's brilliant, although I sort of miss Paul Power's Tash ...

If the problems have been caused by more interest in City and this site then that's fantastic as far as I'm concerned. I remember a few years ago when it was a very common occurrence that you could be the only person logged in, you could post a message, come back an hour later and nobody had read it! - Thank fucl we have moved on from that!

I have made enquiries into having having a Virtual Private Server and this could be a possibility in the future. Our current hosts have said that they hope to have these in place by July and it would cost from £15 per month.

As for adverts, personally I hate them! I love the fact that it is obvious from a glance that this site is 'by the fans for the fans' and we don't have horrible adverts from random companies plastered all over it.

That advert is hideous! How could any City site have that on it?

Come on guys, if you've got a spare 50p, get it in the pot. No-one wants to see shit like that on here, Carl's picture was bad enough!

Our work would provide a gold cpanel hosting platform, the public cost is £11.99 a month though!! :O( I'm fairly sure its not a very competitive price, however its an extremely reliable service.

8 gig web space and 100 gig monthly bandwidth is the nearest product to our current needs and give room for future expansion. I think there are better deals out there, even if I put in for a staff discount. I'll ask on Monday when I'm back and see if the costs comes down to anything like being worth while switching to at the end of the year.

With staff discount it will be £6 a month.
It can be paid yearly or quarterly if that's easier? Plus make rallies for donations like this one less frequent and people more likely to cough up (which I will do after payday).

Another option, with staff discount the Platinum package is £10 a month (rather than £20) with 150Gb a month bandwidth and 15GB storage.
