I'm not sure who buys printed newspapers these days. I used to get a paper every morning, but stopped a couple of years back. I am sure circulation is drastically down, so the tabloids in particular have become more desperate than ever. One way is to write all the crap they like about us.

I've never given money to these shits for ages now, I read all the news on the net. It would do me just fine if they all went out of business, then maybe, only then will the truth and fact over fiction win out.

Watched a TV programme last night about the Rock band 'Queen' and Brian May said that, from day one, they had always received a terrible slagging from the media.

He then made a comment which I thought was pretty apt from a City point of view. He said "the media didn't make us, so they just tried continually to break us".

In City's case, the media have always assisted in 'making' the Scum what they are today, with their supposed traditions and heritage and now that City are overturning all the applecarts, they don't like it, can't yet accept it and are just trying to break us.

When they ultimately see the futility of this, the next few years really are going to see boatloads of humble pie consumed by all and sundry.

Because we came in joint second and won the FA cup????????, when pundits and papers alike belittled us and insinuated (borderline stated as fact) that we were a club in crisis and disjointed..not a team...Mancini was going to be replaced.I could go n and on and on and drag up articles that were borderline lies.........................

Don't necessarily agree with you there, with respect. I firstly, don't buy the newspapers. Yes, I read the stories on the net, but not through the official newspaper sites, so I'm not sure how I can contribute to the advertising revenue.
It's a bit like downloading CD's illegally, it takes one person to buy the record, upload it, and millions to copy it. The fact that their stories are on the net, does not mean I read them from any official source.
I actually live in New York now, so wouldn't buy a UK paper here anyway, but even here, the Newspapers survive on controversy and scandal.

If we remove the rags from the league table, I am sure we wouldn't be asking Chelsea to share the title with us. Points, GOAL DIFFERENCE, goals scored.....THIRD. I am not going to belittle what we have achieved this season by trying to cling to some fallacy and make us seem so fucking small time by clinging to the coattails of a team that did get second place. Outside of City supporters I would say no-one can remember what was written about us at the start of the season, I could probably narrow that down to fans of the club who obsess over every word they write. But really that's what they are after and while you think there is an agenda against City, I am sure most fans of other clubs just like you, think that the papers have it in for them. So the only way we can make them look like cunts is if they sing our praises through gritted teeth, again no-one outside of the club would remember it, but maybe they'd feel like a right cunt in doing it. However, they have gone from slating us to ignoring us, neither of which is singing our praises and while you keep reading what they write, their job is done as far as they are concerned and the only cunts and the ones who read and obsess over it.....YOU.

Though you're right about the 3rd thing, don't completely chuck the joint 2nd in the bin. I have fould it very useful and amusing when having a verbal run in with a thick rag or two. Our success and their recent failure, coupled with the loss of a couple of their favourite sons and that losing semi for them, has made a few rags very nervous and jumpy.
The joint 2nd, when chucked at them just emphasises that in terms of points gained, when they look over their shoulders, it is us they see side by side with Chelsea.

It adds to the dawning realisation that we are getting up right behind them and they can't stand that thought.
