The problem though is not that we missed RVP or Hazard, it's that we already have Dzeko, Balotelli & Nasri.

Mancini has had so much money to spend with no responsibility, that we, as City fans, don't even question this kind of shit, we just whinge about the small ones like Sinclair (& whinge about Marwood).

Boateng, Kolarov, Balotelli, Dzeko, Nasri, Savic, now add Garcia, Sinclair, Rodwell, if you want.

All of these bought as additions to a squad, not as panic buys to keep us together. None of these were essential signings; all 'last piece in the jigsaw' kind of players who will have been sold to Khaldoon as the extra bit we needed.

I don't regret all of those signings, but if I was manager, would I have seen other priorities ? Too fucking right, & so would most on here including the absolute lickers.

Marwood's fault my arse. If he had that much power, his fault is the players he sanctioned, not the ones he missed.

Ted, I know you are trying to set the scene but come on, are those your real thoughts?

You say there is strong rumour that Mancini pulled the plug on Hazard? Where is this strong rumour mate, which of our board have leaked this out? It's poppycock mate, absolute bullshit. Hazard was simply out of our price range due to other factors, nothing more. Next you'll be saying RVP was the same.

And the others you mention, Dzeko, Nasri et al. Well, some of them didn't work out but in reality we got our money back for Boateng and Savic with the added bonus of Nastasi thrown in. As for Dzeko and Nasri, I was fully up for getting those 2 players and still think they are quality in their own right. Mario though, never really liked him but eh oh, Aguerooooooooooo.

But what about Aguero and Silva, did Mancini not bring them in, as well as Nastasic and Clichy. All these players are part of a Premier League winning squad yet they have no baring on what we've done and where we are now?

I understand that we are preparing that 'Stick' to beat him but come on, he pulled the plug on Hazard???

Two different journos printed the same story recently (someone at City clearly blabbed it to them) whether it's true or not, I don't know but I do believe someone told them, hence : 'there were rumours Mancini pulled the plug on Hazard' . The reason given; 'he thought it was too much money ', same reason you are giving. Could easily be that he had the choice of one player: Hazard or several & opted for numbers. Could be that it wasn't true. No idea either way, same as anyone else on here who pretends they do know the truth. Has Mancini ever expressed regret at missing Hazard incidentally ? Like he has with RVP

As for the rest. I'm making an honest appraisal of those signings. You seem to agree on some of them. Why is it ok for you to question the signing of Balotelli but not for me to question Dzeko & Nasri ? I don't get that at all.

I took 2 day off just for the sake of not being blatantly fished - yet again - by Ted's sporting politics sci-fi.
For once I succeeded and I am very much proud of myself.

@ Sparty:
a) I never singled out strikers only - I am no fan of witch hunting. Problem lays on the whole pack of "forwarders".
b) It always end at the manager's door, and rightly so! BUT, You should have a rewatch of extended highlights from the last games. perhaps You will notice and count how many times our MAGNIFICENTLY SKILLED strikers were put in front of the keeper. Let alone how many times David Silva and other midfielders - attacking or not - where put in a very decent position to show Their striking attitude but preferred not to. A shit bag like Carrick would have capitalized far more from them.

4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Will always respect him for what he did here. Astounded that any City fan would slag him off.

Couldn't give a shit what he says in the media now as he's not representing City any longer.

Show me where I disrespected what he did during his time with City.

.................

I was merely pointing out that he has a huge ego, which probably contributed to his sacking. I will always appreciate what he did and the trophies he brought but just because he brought the league title after 44 years doesn't mean he could do whatever he wants.

So if he's so good how come he isn't manager of Real Madrid or Napoli or PSG? Managers need a big ego but not one that subjugates every other in the club.

The best I have ever seen at City. I DON'T GIVE TWO FUCKS WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS BTW. He had time for 4 of us after Dortmund away and bought the beer, top man, if that constitutes a "licker" put my name down for seconds.

I don't see this as arrogance in that he was thinking Cavani would have wanted to come if Mancini was still here. Think it's more that if he'd remained in charge, he would have insisted we spent the money Napoli wanted on Cavani, regardless of whether it was value or not. He was obsessed like Hughes was with RSC. But I guess a lot of managers have that - they become blind in their desire for a player who they think will make the difference, even when no one else can see it or thinks the price is reasonable.

Keegan was the same with Robbie Fowler - had always rated him as player and was determined to buy him at whichever club he was managing.

Unfortunately, we ended up paying about £6m for him when he was well past his peak.

He also said that Tevez was a 'model professional' & that he never had a moment's problem with him, in 3 years.

He tells lies whenever it suits his agenda.

He thinks Juventus are potentially one of his options if they don't succeed this season, so he is rebuilding bridges with Tevez, to smooth the way.

He gave us something special, he will forever be a City legend, but like one or two other City legends from the past, he is full of shit.

That's the bottom line really. You can look at his record of winning things and he has earned the right to be bit of cocky cunt.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
